Most AI marketing apps generate content.

I wanted to build something different.

Instead of asking users what to post...

BrandPilot now connects directly to Google Search Console and uses real search performance to recommend the next best marketing action.

Some of the features include:

AI-powered opportunity detection
Weekly search performance reports
Search momentum tracking
Content generation based on actual SEO opportunities
Secure Google OAuth integration

The biggest lesson?

Building the integration wasn't the hardest part.

Designing useful recommendations that business owners can actually act on was.

I'd love feedback from other developers building AI SaaS products.

Building BrandPilot: Why I Stopped Trying to Generate More Content and Started Organizing It Better

One of the biggest lessons I've learned while building BrandPilot is that more AI-generated ideas don't automatically create better marketing.

Early versions of the Marketing Calendar produced too much content. Technically it worked—but it didn't feel like something a real marketing manager would build.

So I redesigned the planning engine to focus on quality over quantity.

Some of the improvements included:

Smarter monthly planning
Better content variety
Activity levels based on how active a business wants to be
Marketing insights that explain why suggestions are made
Cleaner presentation of campaigns and supporting content

The biggest takeaway?

Sometimes the best feature isn't generating more—it’s organizing what already exists in a way that's useful.

I'd love to hear how others approach AI-assisted planning versus AI-generated content.

Why I Built BrandPilot: Helping Small Businesses Market Without Spending Hours Every Week Building in public as a first-time SaaS founder.

When people think about running a small business, they often picture freedom, flexibility, and being your own boss.

The reality is usually very different.

Most small business owners wear every hat imaginable. They're answering phone calls, meeting customers, sending invoices, ordering supplies, managing employees, handling unexpected problems—and somehow they're also expected to be marketers.

Marketing often becomes the task that's pushed to tomorrow.

Then tomorrow turns into next week.

And before long, months have gone by without posting on social media, updating Google Business Profile, or sending an email to customers.

I saw this happen over and over again.
