Hey y'all!
I’m an undergraduate researcher at Seattle University studying how AI is transforming the software development process.

Most academic studies on this topic that I’ve come across focus almost entirely on individual developers—how they adopt tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-driven assistants. But there’s surprisingly few studies on how software and product managers view these changes:

How are managers experiencing AI in their day-to-day?

Has it created new challenges in balancing speed, quality, and team health?

Are there any ethical challenges that AI presents to software development?

I’d love to open up a discussion here and hear from managers about your perspective.

As part of my research, I’ve also created a short anonymous survey (~10 minutes) for software managers (plus a $15 reward). If you’re interested, please let me know in the comments or DM me, and I’ll share the details.

Once the study is complete, I’ll also publish a write-up of the findings here so the community can see what managers collectively think about AI’s impact.

Thanks for reading — and I’m really wondering:
From your perspective, is AI a genuine productivity boost, or is it creating more management challenges than it solves?
