Building Pacebuddy: A Mac Menubar App That Makes System Monitoring Fun

I just launched Pacebuddy on the App Store - a Mac menubar app that turns boring CPU monitoring into something fun!

 The Problem

I was tired of CPU monitors that felt like surveillance tools. They're useful, but not exactly enjoyable to check.

 The Solution

Pacebuddy is a lightweight menubar app with an animated buddy that dances in sync with your Mac's CPU load. The faster your CPU works, the faster your buddy dances!

 Key Features

Real-time CPU monitoring with fun animations

System dashboard (CPU, RAM, network stats)

Multiple character designs to choose from

Ultra-lightweight and native macOS design

Your dance buddy responds to system performance

 Why I Built This

After months of weekend coding sessions, I wanted system monitoring to actually make me smile. RunCat was a great inspiration, but I wanted more animation variety and a buddy that truly feels alive.

 Tech Stack

Built with Swift and native macOS frameworks for optimal performance.

Check it out on the App Store if you want a more enjoyable way to monitor your Mac!

What features would you like to see in a system monitor?
