Lovable's marketing pricing page didn't print dollar amounts when I checked on 28 October 2026. The numbers are in Lovable's own docs: the Subscription plans page and the Credits and usage page. Here's what each plan costs, what a credit costs you, and when it's worth paying.

 TL;DR

You are...

Best plan

Cost

Trying Lovable out

Free

$0: 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month

Building one real project

Pro, 100 credits

$25/mo, or $250/yr (~$21/mo)

A student or teacher

Pro, 100 credits, 50% off

Half of $25 for up to 12 months

Running out every month

A bigger Pro tier

Same $0.25/credit up to 800 credits, a bit less above that

Needing team controls

Business

From $50/mo for 100 credits

Short version: Pro is the plan to buy. Bigger Pro tiers just buy more credits, not more features.

 Free plan

5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. On Free, that cap is hit after 6 days of daily use (6 × 5 = 30). Then nothing until the 1st.

20 Cloud credits, 4 AI credits and 1 connector credit a month, for running your app's backend and AI features.

Fine for testing an idea. A real app will hit the cap in the first week.

 Pro: you're buying credits

Every Pro tier is the same plan with a bigger monthly balance. I added the cost per credit so you can see where the discount kicks in:

Credits/mo

Monthly

Per credit

Annual (per month)

100

$25

$0.250

$250 ($21)

200

$50

$0.250

$500 ($42)

400

$100

$0.250

$1,000 ($84)

800

$200

$0.250

$2,000 ($167)

1,200

$294

$0.245

$2,940 ($245)

2,000

$480

$0.240

$4,800 ($400)

3,000

$705

$0.235

$7,050 ($588)

4,000

$920

$0.230

$9,200 ($767)

5,000

$1,125

$0.225

$11,250 ($938)

7,500

$1,688

$0.225

$16,880 ($1,407)

10,000

$2,250

$0.225

$22,500 ($1,875)

What the table tells you:

Up to 800 credits there's no volume discount. Every tier is $0.25 a credit. Pick the smallest tier that covers your month.

Annual billing is the real discount. Lovable says it's two months free: $250 instead of 12 × $25 = $300.

Top-ups cost the same as the base plan. Lovable's docs list the Pro top-up rate at $0.25 per credit ($10 buys 40 credits). Running out on the 100-credit tier and topping up costs the same per credit as moving to 200.

Pro also gives you:

5 daily build credits with no monthly cap. If you build every day, that's up to about 150 extra credits in a 30-day month. They expire at the end of each day (00:00 UTC), so they only help on days you actually build.

Rollover. Unused monthly credits roll over while your subscription is active. On monthly billing they expire 2 months after they were issued.

Code editing, code download, custom domains, and removing the "Edit with Lovable" badge. These are listed as Pro and above in the plan comparison.

 Business and Enterprise

Business starts at $50 a month for 100 credits ($500 a year), up to $4,300 a month for 10,000. That's double the Pro price for the same credits, and the docs list the Business top-up rate at $0.50 a credit. You're paying for team controls and governance, not more building.

Enterprise is a sales conversation. No price is published.

 Student and teacher discount

Verified students and teachers get 50% off the 100-credit Pro plan, billed monthly, for up to 12 months. Lovable checks your school email domain, and you have to verify from a Free workspace. Higher tiers, annual billing and top-ups aren't discounted.

Two things to know before you budget

Your live app spends the same credits. Hosting, the database and AI features in your deployed app draw on the same balance once the small monthly grants run out.

Chat pricing is temporary. The docs say the current chat pricing, including the free daily chat allowance, applies through 31 October 2026 and may change after that.

 Cheaper options to compare

Base44: Starter is $20/mo, or $16/mo on yearly billing. Free plan available.

Emergent: Standard is $20/mo, or $17/mo on yearly billing. Free plan includes 10 credits a month.

Blink: Starter is $25/mo, or $13/mo on yearly billing ($150 a year). Free plan available.

Each vendor defines a "credit" differently, so compare what one credit actually does before you compare prices.

 Checklist before you upgrade

Stay on Free until you've hit the 30-credit cap at least once.

Track a normal week of building and multiply by four.

Start on Pro 100. If you run out, a top-up costs the same per credit as the next tier.

If you'll stick with it for a year, annual saves two months.

Students and teachers: verify for the discount before you upgrade, since verification needs a Free workspace.

Recheck docs.lovable.dev on the day you buy. Credit tiers change.

I track Lovable's plans, with source links and check dates, on Build Stack Tools, a free directory of AI app builders and coding tools. It also has Lovable alternatives if you're shopping around.

AI coding tool prices, October 2026: no real price cuts, 4 billing-toggle traps, and 2 Google sunsets

I re-read 30 official pricing pages on 28 October 2026 and compared each starting price with the one we recorded earlier in the month (mostly 16–27 October). Here's what actually moved, and what only looked like it moved.

 TL;DR

Question

Answer

Did any list price change between our reads?

No. Four tools looked cheaper, but only because the page showed yearly billing.

Biggest product change?

Google is winding down Firebase Studio (shuts 22 March 2027) and stopped selling new Gemini Code Assist Standard/Enterprise subscriptions (9 October 2026).

Cheapest paid entry?

$8/mo: Cursor Plus (Grok models only) and Codex Go.

Windsurf?

It's Devin Desktop now. Pro is still $20/mo.

Cursor $20 Pro?

A legacy plan in Cursor's docs. New buyers start at Plus $8 or Premium $30.

One honest caveat up front: this compares one dated read with another. It isn't a long-running price history. Cursor's switch to the Plus/Premium/Super/Ultra lineup happened before our first read, so it shows up below as "current state", not as a change we caught.

Four "price drops" that were really billing toggles

When a pricing page defaults to yearly billing, the per-month number shrinks. Here's how big that gap is:

Tool

Billed monthly

Shown on yearly billing

Gap

Base44 Starter

$20/mo

$16/mo

20%

Webflow Basic

$25/mo

$15/mo

40%

n8n Cloud Starter

$24/mo

$20/mo ($240/yr)

17%

Zapier Professional

$29.99/mo

$19.99/mo

33%

If one tool shows its yearly figure and another shows its monthly one, the comparison is off by up to 40%. Check the toggle first.

Product changes that matter more than price

Windsurf is Devin Desktop. Cognition renamed it on 2 June 2026. devin.ai/pricing lists Free $0, Pro $20/mo, Max $200/mo, and Teams at $80/mo plus $40/mo per full dev seat.

Cursor's lineup. cursor.com/pricing lists Free, Plus $8/mo (Grok models only), Premium $30/mo, Super $100/mo, Ultra $200/mo, and Teams from $30/user/mo. Claude, GPT and other third-party models start at Premium and are billed separately by usage. Cursor's docs call Pro, Pro+ and the old Teams seats "legacy Cursor plans".

Firebase Studio is sunsetting. New workspaces and signups were switched off on 22 June 2026. Existing workspaces work until 22 March 2027. Google's migration guide covers how to move projects out.

Gemini Code Assist. Since 9 October 2026, you can't buy new Standard or Enterprise subscriptions. Google's sunset doc points agentic coding to Antigravity.

Cline and Kilo Code. Cline is free for individuals, with usage-based or bring-your-own-key inference, and an optional ClinePass at $9.99/mo. Kilo Code's extensions are free and open source, with Teams at $15/user/mo and Kilo Pass from $19/mo.

Starting prices on 28 October 2026

Lowest paid plan as shown on each vendor's page:

Tool

Starts at

Free tier

Cursor

$8/mo (Grok only)

Yes

Codex

$8/mo (Go)

Yes

Yes

Zed

$10/mo

Yes

$30/mo

Yes

CodeRabbit

No

 What to do with this

Waiting for a price drop? There wasn't one. The lower numbers you saw are yearly-billing figures.

On Firebase Studio? Plan your migration before 22 March 2027.

Planning to buy Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise? New subscriptions aren't sold anymore.

Comparing Cursor and Devin Desktop? Cursor's $8 Plus is Grok-only. Devin's $20 Pro includes frontier models.

Comparing any two tools? Put both pricing pages on the same billing toggle.

The full table, with a source link and check date for all 30 tools, is in the October 2026 price report on Build Stack Tools, a free directory of AI app builders and coding tools.

Lots of "Cursor vs Windsurf" posts still compare a $20 Cursor Pro plan against a $20 Windsurf Pro plan. Neither of those is what new buyers can get today. Windsurf is now Devin Desktop, and Cursor's $20 Pro is now a legacy plan. Every price below comes from cursor.com/pricing, Cursor's Models & Pricing docs, and devin.ai/pricing, read on 28 October 2026.

 TL;DR

If you...

Pick

Monthly cost

Are fine with Grok models only

Cursor Plus

$8 (or $80/yr)

Want Claude, GPT or Gemini at a fixed price

Devin Desktop Pro

$20, frontier models included

Want Claude/GPT inside Cursor

Cursor Premium

$30 + model usage at API list price

Want cloud agents in the base price

Devin Desktop Pro

$20, includes Devin Cloud

Are buying for a team where everyone codes

Cursor Teams

from $30/seat (see team table)

Just want to try both

Either free tier

$0

Neither is open source. Both have a free tier.

 What changed this year

Windsurf became Devin Desktop on 2 June 2026 (Cognition's announcement). Same IDE, and plans carried over. "Windsurf pricing" now lives on devin.ai/pricing.

Cursor replaced its plan lineup. Cursor's docs list Pro, Pro+, Ultra, Start and the old Teams seats as legacy Cursor plans. They keep working if you already have one. New buyers choose from Free, Plus, Premium, Super, Ultra and Teams.

 The plans side by side

Cursor

Devin Desktop

Free

Yes, limited agent and chat requests

Yes, light agent quota, unlimited Tab and inline edits

Cheapest paid

Plus $8/mo, Grok models only

Pro $20/mo, full model availability

Next tier

Premium $30/mo (4x Plus usage)

Nothing between Pro and Max

Heavy use

Super $100/mo (15x), Ultra $200/mo (50x)

Max $200/mo, "significantly higher quotas"

Claude / GPT models

Premium and up, billed separately at API list price

Included in Pro's quota; extra usage at API pricing

Cloud agents

Premium and up

Pro includes Devin Cloud

Annual billing

Plus $80/yr, Premium $300/yr, Super $1,000/yr, Ultra $2,000/yr

No annual prices listed

Teams

From $30 per user/mo

$80/mo team plan + $40/mo per full dev seat

 The cost math, by situation

Solo, Grok is fine. Cursor Plus is $8/mo, or $80/yr (about $6.67/mo). Devin Pro is $20/mo, or $240 over a year. Cursor wins by $160 a year.

Solo, you want Claude or GPT. Cursor's cheapest option is Premium at $30/mo ($300/yr, $25/mo), plus whatever you spend on third-party models at API list price. Devin Pro is $20/mo with frontier models included in the quota. Even on Cursor's annual price, Premium's fixed cost is $5/mo more than Devin Pro before you've used a single Claude token. Devin wins on predictable cost here.

Teams where everyone codes (full seats, list prices, monthly):

Developers

Cursor Teams ($30/seat)

Devin Teams ($80 + $40/seat)

1

$30

$120

3

$90

$200

5

$150

$280

10

$300

$480

25

$750

$1,080

At list price, Devin Teams costs more at every size, because of the $80 base fee and the higher seat price. Two caveats: Cursor's $30 is the entry seat (Cursor also lists $100 and $200 seats), and third-party models on Cursor Teams are billed on top at API list price plus the Cursor Token Rate. If your team leans on Claude or GPT all day, add that usage before you compare.

 Where each one fits

Cursor is a desktop code editor with its own Grok and Composer models on every paid plan. Cloud agents, Bugbot reviews and third-party models start at Premium.

Devin Desktop is the desktop IDE that used to be Windsurf. Pro adds Devin Cloud, so you can hand tasks to cloud agents without a higher tier.

 Common questions

Is Devin Desktop the same product as Windsurf?
Yes. Cognition's 2 June 2026 announcement renamed it and says existing plans carry over.

Does Cursor Plus include Claude or GPT?
No. Cursor's pricing page says "Only Grok models are available on this plan."

Can I still get Cursor Pro for $20?
Not as a new buyer. Cursor's docs list Pro as a legacy plan. If you already have it, it keeps working.

Does Devin Desktop have an annual discount?
devin.ai/pricing shows monthly prices only.

 Decide in five minutes

Write down which models you actually use every day.

Grok only? Start on Cursor Plus at $8/mo.

Claude or GPT? Devin Pro ($20, included) is the cheaper fixed bill. Cursor Premium ($30 + API usage) makes sense if you want to stay in Cursor's editor.

Team? Use the table above, then add expected third-party usage on the Cursor side.

Try both free tiers before paying, and recheck cursor.com/pricing and devin.ai/pricing on the day you buy.

I keep a dated version of this comparison, with source links, on Build Stack Tools, a free directory of AI app builders and coding tools. The October 2026 price report there re-checks 30 tools' pricing pages.
