I like building small web projects. Sometimes it’s a game, sometimes a tool, sometimes just an idea I want to try over a weekend.
The first version is usually the easy part. The interesting problems show up later: a button that feels awkward on mobile, instructions that make sense only to me, or someone using a feature in a way I never expected.
Those details have changed how I build. I try to get something usable out early, watch where people get stuck, and fix one thing at a time. I still get tempted to add more features, but often a clearer sentence or one fewer step helps more.
I’m planning to share some of those small lessons here as I go.
What’s one thing a side project taught you that a tutorial didn’t?
