ChaosticTool is an open-source security assessment tool for authorized testing. It is available as a command-line interface and as a desktop application, and is aimed at people who run repeatable assessment workflows and want to review them before execution.

 What's new in 2.1.1

Attack flows can be chained: steps run in sequence, with a preview before launch.

Selectable run modes for flows, with a progress indicator showing step i/N.

The launch dialog displays the exact command through a shared preview.

Fan-out runs show the current host position.

Desktop app: defined targets can now be edited.

 Fixes

Built-in attack flows are deduplicated.

The fan-out remediation base is corrected.

Flow fields are prepared once, and tool availability is reported correctly inside flows.

Documentation references point to 2.1.1.

 Installation

Windows: run the x64 or arm64 setup executable.

macOS: open the x64 or arm64 DMG and drag the app to Applications.

Linux: use the AppImage, the tar.gz archive, the deb or rpm package, matching your architecture (x64 or arm64).

ChaosticTool v2.1.0: safer uninstall and PTY-backed runner

ChaosticTool is an open-source toolkit for authorized security assessments. It offers a command-line interface and a desktop application, and aims to give security testers a single, consistent workflow over common recon and assessment tools. It is meant for people who are allowed to test the systems in scope.

 What's new in v2.1.0

A safer uninstaller: dry-run mode, allow-listed removal, and clear handling of distribution packages. The
chaostictool-uninstall
command is shipped with packages and notes external tools that remain after removal.

The installer records pip
--user
installs so uninstall can reverse them.

A POSIX pseudo-terminal backend for interactive tool execution.

Subdomain enumeration runs in the shared TUI operation view, and a crash in the CLI during enumeration is fixed.

A rotating diagnostic log records swallowed install and privilege errors to help troubleshooting.

The installer requires a published SHA-256 before placing downloaded binaries.

Assessment phases and the tool catalogue are derived from one shared manifest.

 Installation

Linux: use the deb, rpm or AppImage packages, or the tarball, from the release page.

macOS: use the dmg for your architecture.

Windows: use the setup executable or install via winget.
