Nine logos in one picture, then you pick a cell

Ask an image model for a logo and you usually get one picture. It looks finished. It also looks like the last ten logos the model drew for other people: a letter, a swoosh, a coffee cup if you mentioned coffee.

I wanted the opposite. One reply, nine marks that do not share a template, and a way to point at the one worth continuing. That is ninelogo.

 One image, nine marks

The first drawing is a single PNG split into a 3×3 grid. Each cell is a different logo for the same name. A wordmark, a monogram, an abstract mark, a seal. They are not nine colorways of one idea.

The cells are numbered left to right, top to bottom:

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

You can pick more than one. The next message is just the cells, for example
Cells 2, 5 of 「Style exploration」
. The following grid stays in that direction: nine concepts, then nine variations, then one final mark.

The whole path is five steps, and a turn only moves one step:

Learn the name and what the brand does.

Nine styles, far apart.

Nine concepts inside the style you picked.

Nine variations of the concept you picked.

A final mark, plus a horizontal lockup, an icon, black and white, or a reversed version.

The grid downloads as that one PNG. Ask for an SVG after the final. An SVG of a cell inside the grid waits until the mark is a final, because cropping a cell out of the sheet is a different file.

There is a second mode. Say you want compass-and-straightedge geometry and every edge is a circle or a straight line. After the final, it can draw the construction too.

Try one round on the homepage

The homepage is a form, not a pitch.

On the left: the brand name, what it does, and an optional feeling. On the right: the run. It reads the brand, sets nine directions, draws the grid, and stops. One nine-up. Then the button says continue, and the next click opens that same thread. Picking a cell happens there, not on the marketing page.

A new account gets 50 credits. One image costs 30, so the first grid is covered. One SVG costs 5. Chat has a minimum of 1 credit. If the balance is short, the turn stops and lists four packs: $10, $25, $50, and $100.

The designer answers in the language you write in. English, Chinese, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean are the ones the studio is built for.

 The same studio inside Cursor

The website is one place to do this. The other is the chat you already have open.

The skill is MIT licensed. In Cursor or Codex, send:

Read https://ninelogo.com/skills/ninelogo/install.md and follow the instructions to install the skill.

Open a new chat after it lands. Create a key at ninelogo.com/billing. It starts with
nl_
and is shown once. Set it as
NINELOGO_API_KEY
. The key spends that account's credits. Do not paste it into the chat, and do not commit it.

Then talk the way you would on the site: "Make a logo for a seaside coffee shop called Salt & Tide." The agent checks the balance and sends your words through. You still pick cells. You still export PNG or SVG at the end.

If you would rather call it yourself, the script prints one JSON object:

node scripts/ninelogo.mjs credits
node scripts/ninelogo.mjs turn --message "Make a logo for Salt & Tide, a seaside coffee shop"
node scripts/ninelogo.mjs turn --session "<sessionId>" --message "Cells 2, 5 of 「Style exploration」"
node scripts/ninelogo.mjs svg --logo "<logoId>" --cell 0

Pass
--mode geometric
when you want the compass drawings. Pass
--image
when you have a reference. The reference is a feeling to redraw, not a file to trace.

 What this is bad at

It will not invent a brand for you. It needs a name and a sentence about what the thing does. "A logo" is not enough, and "make it pop" is not a direction.

It will not hand you a logo kit of social avatars, business cards, and a brand book in one click. The thread can keep going into a horizontal lockup or a small icon, and you stop when the mark is right.

It is also not a template gallery. If you already know you want the third result from a logo maker's style page, this will feel slow. The slowness is the point. You see nine real alternatives before anyone commits to one.
