I built a 3D interactive globe to explore world history, civilizations

I wanted a way to explore how countries and civilizations are connected through history — not isolated Wikipedia articles, but the actual relationships between them. So I built World Explorer.

What it does
It's a 3D globe where you click any country and get its full story: history timeline, culture, food, cities, and how it connects to other countries through trade, conflict, and cultural exchange.

Some numbers:

116 countries with full timelines and cultural breakdowns
444 cities with landmarks, food, and neighborhood guides
27 civilizations with timelines where historical borders shift on the map
60 knowledge articles answering questions like "How did Buddhism spread from India to Japan?"
A daily quiz and "This Day in History" feature

Try it
www.worldexplorer.dev — free, no login, no ads.

Some things worth clicking:

Any country → Connections tab (the unexpected links are the best part)
Roman or Mongol civilization → scroll the timeline, watch borders shift
Search "silk road" or "buddhism spread" → knowledge articles from the graph
The daily quiz — one question per day, no cheating
