I have been writing plans and talking to developers and marketing specialists, every time my mind wanders I am both excited for the solution my product will be bringing to the African economy and how much change This could bring, making Temote accessible for all Businesses is a huge dream come true.

What are the plans
My team is currently waiting for the green light to get to work, to finish up the product, to move from prototype stage to testing and MVP stage. We plan to launch by September, with all things being equal.
We do hope the funds will come from the Bolt contest, but if it doesn't we have other plans to reach out to investors with an mvp stage product.

Reflection
I really have learned a lot from the Bolt hackathon program, many of these lessons I have been putting actively in my daily routine.
I also have been building a lot of project, we have another product that will be launched soon also, and I am super excited about the possibilities.
I have been sharing my knowledge also, and referring friends to use bolt.new as a better option to build websites and landing pages, so far it's been an exciting experience getting their feedbacks.
Conclusion
Words will fail me to really appreciate the efforts of the Bolt team for the exposure, I hope to win any category of the contest to have funding to kick start the agency, however, if it doesn't come through, I am still very much grateful for the opportunity I was giving to learn, to build and to bring to live, I will labour to make sure it lives.

What I learned while building my first webapp

Hi, I am Chubi, I am not much of a technical person, I am more of the researcher and writer, so jumping on the Bolt.new contest was really a challenge, I had to dig deeper to know, and had to understand what I was doing.

At the beginning it felt like, I was using Chatgpt to build a website, just tell it what you need done and it will have it done, but later on I realized it wasn't so, I needed to have some knowledge, which was something I know how to do well.

I went on to research. I had to join the discord community, which was part of the tools I needed to succeed, the Bolt team really did everything perfectly to help everyone achieve the goal set (to build)

During my research I saw the need to have some knowledge in coding and a little bit on programming, so I crash coursed using YouTube, I spent most nights awake doing my studies and during the day trying to build and understand the Bolt interface.

It turned out to be a success though, as I was finally able to mix the both (Learning and implementing) and I saw the speed I got in achieving success.

One challenge I faced though, was in making payment, most platforms don't accept the Nigerian mastercard, which was really the issue, the only other option was to get a foreign card. I was able to sort out some of the issues but not all, in coming days I will be implementing some of the payment systems while I wait for the judging to conclude.

Meeting people

I am a very introverted person, but I had to allow myself meet other creators and developers.

The most exciting experience was the webinars, I learned a lot there that helped me shape my project to an 80% perfection rate.

Working with others

On the project Temote I learned a lot, and the first time I told my brother and partner about what I had built he just couldn't believe it, I too had that experience when I finished.

I know the project will help a lot of Businesses, that is the thrill for me, to get feedback from businesses monthly saying "Thank you Temote, for making business easy"

I had to involve some of my friends who are developers but it was mostly after I was done.

I promised myself I would do this entirely independent, plus sometimes its best to show people what you are working on than to tell them, and so I wanted to prove this to myself and everyone else.

Their response after going through the webapp was nothing short of exciting, I was happy they could see what I was building already, and not hear about it.

I thought I was making a mistake

The month I Applied to the hackathon contest, my fiancee broke up, it still is a shock to me even as I type this, I haven't healed, sincerely I still love her and would do anything to have her back, there was no issue, I never lied or cheated, the response as to Why has been vague.

Showing up daily to build Temote was hard, as she was the center piece of my ideas and work, it was hard daily building, as a man I don't cry much, but I have cried for many days while working, interestingly I am building this to honour her, I sincerely hope she returns back to me, we planned on getting married this year, I guess the pressure of marrying got to her, I am scared too, I don't know what to expect but I had made a vow to love her and never look at another woman.

So while building I could feel myself get excited and disappointed all at same time, from my kitchen to my sitting room, I delved really deep into my work. I sincerely just wanted this to come out as a success, so I can dedicate it to her and maybe get her bouque of flowers and maybe a gift to say "I miss you, and I want you back" I am a hopeful romantic.

The success of Temote is more important to me than anything right now, not because I personally need the money (maybe some of it) but mostly because I need to dedicate it to the love of my life and win her back, and secondly to help build a system for others (To fund Businesses and ideas with the funds generated from Temote, I hope to empower more than a thousand Businesses in the first two years and then grow to more as we grow).

Where do we go from here?

My next step is to start pitching to investors and Businesses, I hope not to lose control over the thoughts and creativity I wish to have over Temote, I have seen Businesses lose this with my little experience working for brands and I do not want to replicate the same mistakes.

I will apply for grants, and research on investors before we sign any agreement. I am really grateful for all I have now and will be more grateful if I get the funds needed to achieve the goal of bringing Temote to life

Building Temote.online

Before getting on bolt.new hackathon contest, I have wondered how building the platform would turn out, I had no knowledge of coding, developing a webapp but just some info from my tech friend and business partner.

When I started, I had to spend days researching on every detail of the website I was going to build, and had all the details. Execution was left. I promised I would build it myself with no help or just a little assistance. With this determination, I started.

I kept getting the null error code continually, I knew there was something I was missing, so I halted the project and had to spend a few days crash coursing on coding and languages on YouTube, when I felt confident enough, I came back and continued building.

While building, I was already so much grateful for the access the bolt.new contest had given me and I felt that was all I would ask for while building, but when I was about 65% done, it hit me, I needed funding to go live.

For better context, I am Nigerian, and as a Nigerian, you don't get access to stuff like this that helps you build or investors or loans for Businesses, so I made up my mind to finish up my project as a prototype and submit for any of the categories my project fell into.

All said is the emotional part of building the project

About Temote.online

The project itself was a need I saw in the marketing space as a Social Media Marketer. I have a client who would need to reach out to the over 2000+ customers, but there's no way around it except we manually call. So I thought about setting up a call center, but that would be so cost intensive.

I had to think deeper, and with clarity, it then hit me one of those days, "AI can clone voices, AI can manage chats, can be taught information, so how about we integrate all these in one and add the functionality for calls?"

I discussed this with the Ceo of the brand, but he wasn't really interested as he mentioned many people would not want to talk to an AI agent, but I had to convince him that AI had gone more advance and because of this, it's easy to clone a human voice and give am identity to the agent for the brand and it won't have to sound like AI. He was still skeptical.

I went ahead to study and research and then I saw it was possible, but the solution was only for the European countries and the rest of the world and there was no option for African countries. So I decided if we cannot have it, then Why not build it? So I went all in to find out all that I needed to know, thanks to Bolt.new it came out presently temote.online became a reality.

How Did I build?

Prior to building temote.online, I had little experience with wix and wordpress but not practical knowledge, I haven't built any site that is active and working, but thanks to the many workshops and webinar, I learned, studied more and built the Temote platform. Towards the end was when my partner/brother had to come in to assist on the project.

In building Temote.online I needed to sync some platform's API Keys; platforms like ElevenLabs, Deepgram, OpenAi, twilio, Africastalking, Paystack, Supabase.

How the system works is this, when you register an account, you buy a number based on the region you're in, that number gets assigned to your AI agent, with the help of OpenAi you get to train your AI agent to know more about your brand or business, with ElevenLabs you create a voice for your AI agent, with Deepgram you aid transfer of information from OpenAi as text transcribed to voice through ElevenLabs' voice through the calling feature can give those information to the customer or make inquiries or whatever the campaign objective is. Technically this is how it works.

I made sure to be sure the project was fully optimized for functionality, what's left is to get access to Premuim use of the platforms linked to the project to sufficiently test before we launch.

In all this was really a thrilling experience, and I have recommended bolt.new to some of my tech friends already and many of which have opened an account and testing the functionalities already. I have found bolt.new I am going to build more solution going forward.

Check out the webapp
