I built an AWS cost tool that fixes the waste, not just reports it

I’ve been working on a side project called CloudBudgie on my own for a while now, and I’m getting close to launch.

I built it because I needed something that didn’t seem to exist. The cost tools I tried were good at showing where my money went, but not as good at telling me what I could actually get rid of. What I really wanted was a tool that would spot the waste, tell me what the right replacement was, and then fix it at the source.

CloudBudgie scans your AWS account for idle and oversized resources and identifies opportunities to reduce waste. Depending on the optimization, you can apply changes directly through AWS or our BudgieBot opens a pull request in your repository with the proposed fix. You review and merge it like any other PR, keeping the change in your normal development workflow.

A lot of waste also comes from running things around the clock that don’t need to be. Off-Hours Mode lets you pick resources, like dev and test environments, and schedule them to shut down at night and on weekends.

I'd love feedback from anyone who manages AWS accounts, whether for side projects or at work.

Please give CloudBudgie a try. It's free to get started. And if you hit the free plan's limits, just reach out. I'm happy to give early users more room to explore.

All I ask in return is honest feedback: what works, what's confusing, and what you wish it did.
