Save Time and Make Informed Choices with ColabDog.com - A New Platform for Objective Open-Source Framework Reviews

Hey fellow developers!

Have you ever found it difficult to evaluate open-source frameworks objectively and find unbiased reviews online? I certainly have, and that's why I decided to create my own website to help solve this problem.

Introducing ColabDog.com, a platform where you can find reviews and ratings of over 70 popular open-source repositories. I've personally reviewed each of these frameworks, outlining their pros and cons in a few sentences and scoring them out of 5 based on my experience using them. And where possible, I've also provided alternatives to these open-source alternatives.

The reason I built this platform is simple - I wanted to share my opinion of software with other people, and help others avoid bad rabbit holes and find good alternatives that could save them time and money. I couldn't find any information readily online, so I took matters into my own hands and created this resource.

But that's not all - I've also made it possible for other users to add their own reviews of popular open-source repositories as well. This way, the platform can be a community-driven resource where developers can come together and share their experiences with different frameworks and libraries.

I understand that as developers, we are always looking for ways to save time and make informed choices. That's why I believe ColabDog.com could be a valuable resource for our community. And to make it even easier to use, I've created a video demo that shows you how to navigate the platform.

You can check out the website here: colabdog.com

You can also check out the video demo on how to use the platform here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYtVGsXKzxk

I hope you find ColabDog.com as useful as I do, and I would love to hear your feedback on the platform. So, what are you waiting for? Give it a try and let me know what you think!

How to find useful repositories faster

Hey all!
I've been thinking about how I can find useful repositories faster to improve my productivity so I can actually focus on delivering useful output. As a result, I noticed there were a few trends that I would look for:

When the last update to the repo was (ideally less than a year ago)

the license of the repo

number of stars (as an indication of usage although it probably isn't the best - open to other suggestions!)

I don't look through enough repos fast enough

So I created a free simple tool that allows others to try it out tool. You can check it out here:

https://data-science-hub-abb6d.web.app/#/
