If you're looking for the best emulators for the GB, look no further. Here is a full list, with options for Linux, MacOS and Windows.

(Note that this list is not in a order, one should not be considered better that four.)

 1. SameBoy - Best Emulator For Resolution Scaling

A good overall choice, the SameBoy Emulator has features like:

It is Open-Source

Built-in Debugging, with an advanced text editor.

Support for the Original Gameboy,GameBoy Color, the GameBoy Pocket/Light, the GameBoy Advance and the Super GameBoy 1 & 2.

GameBoy printer and camera emulation.

A clean user interface

Scaling of games up to 5k resolution.

Support for joysticks, and custom controls.

The SameBoy Emulator is currently avalible for Windows, MacOS,and IOS. There is a Snapcraft package for Linux, but it lacks features and seems to be outdated as of this writing.

 2. BGB

The BGB emulator is an older and unpolished emulator, with a website that looks like it's from 1995, here are it's features:

Emulation of inaccessible Vram.

GameBoy, GameBoy Color, and Super GameBoy.

Powerful Debugger.

Good Clock Emulation

While the emulator has some solid features, it has a slightly concerning message, "download and use at your own risk. i'm not responsible for any damage caused by these files.". Unfortunately it is only available for Windows.

 3. VisualBoy Advance - The Best GameBoy Advance Emulator - Most Advanced - Best Overall

The VisualBoy Advance emulator is an open-source GBA Emulator that has many features such as:

Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and IOS support

Emulation support for the GameBoy and GameBoy Color as well

Full state saving

GameBoy Printer emulation

Cheat codes, speed up, and auto-complete buttons

Joystick Support

Advanced debugging and ROM dumping tools
In summary, the VisualBoy Advance is probably the best emulator for any early Nintendo games and the most advanced.

In closing, I personally have chosen the VisualBoy Advance emulator because of snap support, as not having to use the AUR is nice. (I use Arch btw). Thank you for reading.
