We checked whether AI recommends our own product. It doesn't, yet.

We build a tool that checks whether AI assistants recommend a brand, so we ran it on ourselves.

On 21 October 2026 we asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity 18 questions, one run per question (72 answers).

When someone asked about Envoyra by name, the assistants described us accurately in 9 of 20 answers. In 8 they said they didn't know us, and in 3 (all Gemini) they described something else.

When someone asked an open question, like "what tools show whether ChatGPT recommends my business?", they recommended us in 0 of 36 answers. They named Semrush, Otterly, Profound, Ahrefs and Brandwatch instead.

What we learned:

Being known and being recommended are different numbers. Track them separately.

The open answers lean on other people's pages. Across those 36 answers the assistants cited 93 distinct pages, mostly "best tools" and how-to articles on other companies' blogs, plus a few directories. envoyra.com was not among them.

Two of the four assistants showed sources on those questions: Perplexity on all 9 questions, ChatGPT on 1. Claude and Gemini showed none.

So our to-do list is ordinary work: accurate profiles on the directories AI reads, plain facts on our own site, and being described well on other people's pages.

We'll re-run the same 36 open questions in four weeks and post the count, whatever it is.

Golara Serio, founder, Envoyra (Washington, DC)
