This is a submission for the 2025 Hacktoberfest Writing Challenge: Maintainer Spotlight

What truly is 0delay?

0delay is my concept a Linux-Linux based file transfer system that supports both terminal (CLI) applications. It aims to provides secure, encrypted file transfers with error correction and with a user-friendly interface.

Why I built it.

I just got into AWS. So I first got myself an AWS EC2 server (with about 30gb of RAM and 2gb processing power). I use Kali(btw) and I was fascinated at the point of having a cloud computer 😂.
But after like 2 weeks of usage and customization I discovered a little problem. I could not send files. I did what any developer would do and went online for answers and I found out the Goat (SSH) but little did I know it works mostly on Linux to Linux. And to send to my EC2 running Ubuntu. I needed some juice(.pem keys) after getting my keys, I tried it and sent my first ever file from my local system to my cloud computer.
But!!! I did not follow the unspoken rule of programming: IF IT WORKS. DO NOT TOUCH IT

And now I Cannot fix. Not that I can't but I live in a third world country and my 2gb ram laptop can't open 2 chrome tabs without freezing and it broke down recently and I can't get to fix it. I had to keep it on hold. I post updates and commits from my phone to keep it active on GitHub too.

My Proposed Architecture

Features.

First we get a terminal CLI app written in Python like popular linux apps like Gemini cli.
Save the .pem key of servers in the Cli for fast access.
We offer End-to-end encryption with optinal password protection as indicated by the user.
Utilizing the famous Hamming code error correction for reliable transfers.
Then top it up with SSH-based file sending for the CLI app.
Username registration and management via Supabase. Where we can save all users and users can send to various people as long as your username and device is saved on the database so that you won't have to manually input every detail.
Cross-machine file transfer on Linux to EC2 servers or and server which might required.pem keys.

My Future plans (2.0).

Include a Gui Version.
Mobile version for IOS or Android to Linux
1000% free with no Ads or Bloatware (in honor of VLC and WinRAR)
An active Linux Community
Active Repo that gives back to it's users.

The Problem

I wanted to send a file from my remote linux to my EC2 server and i was so frustrated. after looking across the various methods (SCP, SFTP, rsync, or plain SSH) i still couldn't do it. pretty sure it was my side that had the error but my pride is too big to admit it.
"Why is this still so difficult in 2025 tho?"

If you're deep in the dev or cyber world, those tools fee kinda dated. They lack proper encryption layers by default, error correction, or user-friendly flows for day-to-day quick hustle.

Also i love the blend of Cli and Gui on linux. (Not sorry WIndows and Mac users!)

Overview

0delay is my ongoing project to simplify secure, encrypted file transfers between Linux systems. Designed with both Terminal warriors and GUI lovers in mind, it simplifies file sharing between Linux systems — whether you're sending sensitive files to your AWS server like Elliot Anderson(Mr. Robot) or collaborating across your mini dev setups.

The crazy Mission? Build the first true Linux-to-Linux file transfer system with modern security, error correction, and a clean interface — and eventually submit it to Linux distros like Ubuntu and Kali Linux as an official tool.

Why I Built This (A Bedtime Story)

I’ve always admired the hacker culture — think Mr. Robot vibes — where Linux is king, servers run in the cloud, and everything's about privacy and control. But I couldn’t find a modern, reliable tool to securely transfer files between Linux machines that:

- Feels intuitive

- Supports both terminal users and GUI fans

- Has encryption baked in

- Makes error handling painless

So I stopped waiting for someone else to build it — and started building 0delay myself 4 days before my exams commences...

The ultimate Aim?
Get 0delay polished enough to become an official tool on Linux distros like Ubuntu, Kali Linux, Mint and beyond.(maybe link up with Windows and Mac years later)

Inspiration

For June Celebrations, I wanted to honor Father's Day with something clean and heartfelt using only CSS. No SVGs, no images — just pure CSS magic. A simple animated heart and a bold "DAD" in fancy handwritten typography to show love and appreciation to fathers everywhere.

Journey

This was my first time pushing a full CSS Art piece entirely with shapes and animations — no images, no external graphics. I learned how to:

Combine basic shapes with rotation to build complex forms
Animate with @keyframes for a clean heartbeat effect
Use custom fonts from Google Fonts to elevate simple text
Deploy quickly with GitHub Pages for instant sharing ** What I'm definitely proud of:**
Kept it minimal but meaningful
Used Pure CSS, lightweight, responsive
I Learned how to center, animate, and style fluidly

What I Built

Mail-Guide-AI is a next-gen customer service assistant that automates the chaos of corporate and personal email handling. Think of it as your email triage ninja — sorting, replying, and responding to every email like a seasoned pro.

The idea? Reduce manual work, boost response speed, and give your inbox a brain of its own. Built with Python and JavaScript, Mail-Guide-AI leverages advanced machine learning and NLP to:

Auto-classify incoming emails (e.g., support, feedback, sales)

Craft responsible, context-aware replies

Integrate smoothly with Gmail accounts for fetching + replying

Handle everything through Postmark’s powerful email API

Whether you're a solo founder, a startup support team, or just drowning in unread mail, this tool brings your inbox back under control.

How I Built It

My Tech Stack:

Backend: Python (Flask), Postmark Webhooks
Frontend: JavaScript (React)
Email Parsing & Classification: spaCy, scikit-learn, Regex
Gmail API: OAuth2 for secure access
Postmark: Email routing, delivery, and parsing
AI: OpenAI

Why Postmark?

Postmark's reliable infrastructure made it a no-brainer for handling real-time inbound emails. Here's how it fits into the flow:

- Inbound Routing: Postmark receives and forwards mail to our webhook endpoint
- Webhook Magic: Triggers our ML engine to analyze and classify the message
- Structured Parsing: Postmark handles sender, subject, body, and attachments like a champ
- Bulletproof Delivery: Ensures fast + reliable responses with zero lag

Final Thoughts

Mail-Guide-AI is still evolving, but it’s already saving hours of manual effort. The synergy between AI + Postmark is LIT. If you’ve ever wished your inbox came with its own support agent — this is it.
