It’s another Sunday and therefore time for another Sunday Dose of Humility.

Last week, Kayode Sholanke’s portfolio was our pill. If you missed it, click here to read.

 This week’s pill.

For this week’s Sunday Dose of Humility, I give you…

Drumroll

ISS Simulation by SpaceX.

 Description

This simulation will “familiarize you with the controls of the actual interface used by NASA Astronauts to manually pilot the SpaceX Dragon 2 vehicle to the International Space Station.”

 Technology used

According to BuiltWith and digging in DevTools, ThreeJS and a lot of JQuery was used in building the site.

 Take pill

Here, ISS Simulation. Experience awesomeness and a dose of Humility.

Oh, and good luck trying to duck this thing. It’s unsurprisingly difficult.

Sunday Dose of Humility (May 17th, 2020)

Since this is the first publication here, a little background seems appropriate. As first, a fine artist, and then, a frontend developer with so much love for aesthetically pleasing interfaces, I spend some time rummaging through the web looking for inspiration and magic created by other developers and designers. Sometimes, I’m inspired. Other times, I feel humble, like there’s so much to be learnt — WebGL/ThreeJS on Bruno Simon’s portfolio, CSS Polygon in In Pieces. However, this humility breeds inspiration to learn these technologies used. So either way, Inspiracion.

One Sunday — 12th of January, 2020 precisely — as I was going through this cycle, I decided to share that day’s inspiration on Twitter and make it a regular Sunday event. I named the series #SundayDoseOfHumility

Well, because as a frontend developer, they make me feel like I haven't even started. Hopefully, they make us humble enough to make amazing stuff ourselves.

I will be posting on Sundays so do make sure to check out my wall every Sunday for your humility pill.🙂
— Daniel Ngozika (@danielngozika
) January 12, 2020

In the past, Bruno Simon’s portfolio site and Nomadic Tribe have been our pills.

For this week’s #SundayDoseOfHumility, I give you…

Kayode Sholanke’s portfolio’s site.

I am a sucker for a beautiful portfolio site and from the colour scheme to the choice of fonts, everything seems well done. The animation isn’t overly done such that the user experience suffers as you’d probably see in some top designers’ portfolio sites.

According to BuiltWith, it is built with jQuery and UiKit.

It was designed by Kayode Sholanke and developed by Olamide Sholanke.

Here. Jaykay’s portfolio. Experience awesomeness… and a dose of humility.

Why does the latest version of create-react-app completely reload your application when you make a CSS edit as opposed to just applying the new style as it did in previous versions?
