Beyond the Code: How to Monetize Tech Knowledge with Zero Capital (2026 Edition)

In 2026, the "barrier to entry" for making money in tech has effectively vanished. You no longer need a Silicon Valley budget or a $10,000 workstation to generate a professional income. What you need is Applied Knowledge.

If you have a smartphone, a stable internet connection, and the ability to explain complex things simply, you are sitting on a goldmine. Here is the professional roadmap to monetizing tech skills with zero upfront investment.

We've done our research, and what we found out was rather intriguing!

Here a the top 10 ways to earn money with tech knowledge(with a minimum - zero capital)

The Power Of Technical Detail - (UserTesting, Userlytics, Trymata, IntelliZoom, uTest, TestingTime)

The real truth is that even the big companies are spending billions to ensure their apps don't frustrate users. They will literally pay you to be their "eyes and ears).
The workflow of this (hustle) requires you to sign up on the platforms, and you typically look for bugs or complete tests regarding a companies website, in order to give them full details e.g checkout button dosent work.

• UserTesting - The industry leader. You complete 10–20 minute tests involving screen recording and "thinking out loud" as you navigate a site.
Pay: Typically $10 per 20-minute test; shorter 5-minute tests pay $4, and live video interviews can pay $30–$120.

• Userlytics - A highly flexible platform that often has a global reach, making it a good choice for international testers.
Pay: Usually $5 to $90 per test depending on complexity and length.

• Trymata - (formerly TryMyUI): Focuses on classic usability testing. It is known for a straightforward "do a test, get paid" model.
Pay: Standard rate is $10 per 20-minute test.

• IntelliZoom (by UserZoom): Offers a mix of quick surveys and recorded video studies.
Pay: Averages $2 for simple surveys and $10 for video-based studies

• uTest - Different from others, this is a community for "bug hunting." You are paid to find actual technical errors (bugs) on websites and apps.
Pay: Varies by project and the severity of the bug found; payments are made twice a month.

Technical Documentation & Guest Posting -
Technical Writing, remains a top role for tech enthusiasts who want to start earning cash, but don't know how.
One interesting reason it remains a master is because, you can either write content - and get it monetized, or get paid to write content for others.

Writing your own content and getting it monetized - This is one of the most unique entrances into technical writing, as you start a blog or website, you publish content there regularly and sign it up for monetization, via any of the following.

Platforms like Google Adsense, Mediavine, Ezoic, PropellerAds, and Media.net, remain a key player for blog monetization.

Get Paid to write for others(Guest Engineering Blogs)- You could also sign up on writing firms, help them to write articles and get paid for it, platforms like DigitalOcean, LogRocket and Auth0, are suitable brands to achieve this.

High-Impact Content Creation (YouTube & Beyond)
Content Creation is also a high in demand skill in 2026, as a lot of people are leveraging it to make a living.
If you have a following, 2026 is the year of "The Authority Economy." You don't need a studio; you need a niche.
The "Faceless" Tech Channel - Use AI tools like Sora or HeyGen to create tutorials or tech news summaries without ever going on camera. High-demand niches include AI Productivity Tips, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Reviews, and Tech Side-Hustle Experiments.

YouTube Monetization - for monetizing your video content on youtube, you need to aim for the 1,000 subscribers / 4,000 watch-hour milestone to unlock AdSense. However, savvy creators in 2026 earn more through Affiliate Marketing (recommending tools) and BrandConnect deals long before they hit those numbers.

AI Data Labeling & Annotation (Human-in-the-loop) -
AI models are smart, but they still need humans to tell them if they're right or wrong, and this is called "Data Labeling."

Nowadays this skill can easily be monetized by using various platforms like these to label data for Ai's
Toloka AI - it's a very popular one in Nigeria. You do simple tasks like "Is this image blurry?" or "Which search result is more helpful?", although the payouts may be small per task but they add up, and they pay via Payoneer.

Neevo (by Defined.ai): You get paid to record short audio clips or check if a transcript matches an audio file. It’s simple, and they send jobs directly to your email once you’re verified.

OneForma: They often have long-term projects for "Internet Judging" or "Language Research" that pay much better than standard micro-tasks.

Sell Your Knowledge Via Courses -
Do you know anything at all??. Well if yes!, Then this one's for you!, if you have knowlege of a particular thing, perhaps a subject or even as a far as teaching people how to live a clean lifestyle, you could draft up this info into a course and monetize it.

You could monetize a course in two main ways.
• Selling on platforms like Udemy, Kajabi, Teachable and Thinkific - there are so many platforms to sell your courses, and they pay you - mostly when your course gets purchased by someone.

• Selling via your own site - if you have some developer knowlege or you're a developer, you could create a website, host your course there and integrate payment methods like stripe for users to buy your course directly from the site.

Strategic Survey Taking - although this is really under-rated by most today, survey taking can't be left out in this article, a lot of global companies pay you for taking quick or sometimes lengthy surveys.

For global reaches - companies like Swagbucks, Survey Junkie, InboxDollars and branded surveys are good picks for surveying in 2026.

But if you're more focused on Nigerian surveying - these companies below are more beneficial to Nigerians -

Prime Opinion: Currently one of the best for Nigerians in 2026. They have a low $5 minimum payout and a clear interface.

ySense (formerly ClixSense): A veteran in the game. They offer surveys, but the real money is in the "Offers" section—downloading apps or reaching levels in mobile games. They pay via Payoneer, which is perfect for you.

MOBROG: They have a dedicated Nigerian panel and pay in Naira/USD via PayPal or Skrill.

Affiliate Marketing - for someone with a massive following, affiliate marketing isn't just a side hustle; it’s a primary revenue engine.
In 2026, the strategy has evolved beyond just posting links; it's about "curated ecosystems."
If you have a large audience, affiliate marketing could be a great way to earn a side income.

It typically requires you to meet with a big company get a unique link of their product and share it, and for everytime a user buys via your unique link, you get a commission.

With a massive following, you can join Amazon’s Influencer Program, which gives you a custom storefront. For tech influencers, the focus is on "The Setup."
Top Niches: 4K workstations, AI-capable laptops (Nvidia RTX series), or high-end streaming gear.
The Edge: Brands like DJI (Drones) or Lenovo have direct programs that offer better rates to influencers than general marketplaces.

Tech Tutoring and Mentorship - As more people try to "break into tech," the demand for mentors is peaking. Platforms like ADPList (for building authority) and Topmate or Preply (for paid sessions) allow you to sell your experience directly.

One superb aspect about tutoring, is that not only do you get paid sharing your knowledge by teaching others, you also get to learn during the process, as tutoring is a two-way teacher.

The Software Buisness(SaaS - Software as a Service) - Although this may be mostly favourable to developers, there are many no code tools out there that can help you implement this.

Instead of a giant platform like facebook, build a "Micro-SaaS"—a small tool that solves one specific problem (e.g., a WhatsApp automated responder for small vendors or a specialized invoice generator).

You typically pick a niche and look for a problem specific to that niche and try to find a solution, when you find the solution you automate it, and add subscription

Revenue Model: Monthly subscriptions ($5–$20/month).

Learn-to-Earn - Gamified Knowledge(The easiest to get into for you!).

Do you know that it's not only about utilizing your skills to earn cash, but you could also partake in tech or educational quizzes as side hustles.
Learn-to-Earn" has evolved into high-stakes, real-time competitive platforms.

• Quizford - operates on a pari-mutuel or entry-fee model.
How it works: You deposit a small fee (e.g., ₦1,000), join a live room with other students, and compete in subjects you know best. The winners split the pool instantly.
Why it’s popular: It uses a KYC (Know Your Customer) process to ensure you’re fighting actual students, not bots.
The "Protocol": It's built on speed and accuracy. If you know your technical writing or tech history, these "Timed Battle" apps are your best bet.

• HQ Trivia(The global standard) - HQ Trivia was the original pioneer of the live-quiz-for-cash model. After a brief hiatus, it has seen a revival.
The Format: Live-streamed shows with a real host. You have about 10 seconds to answer each question. If you get all 12 right, you split the grand prize (often $5,000 to $20,000).
Why it’s like Quizford: It’s strictly knowledge-based and rewards you for speed and accuracy in a high-pressure environment.

• Blitz Win Cash - This is a "multi-game" platform that is extremely popular in the US. It uses a pari-mutuel system nearly identical to Quizford’s rooms.
The Format: You can choose trivia-style puzzles or skill games. You pay a small entry fee (in USD) to enter a "room," and you face off against real opponents. The winner takes the pot.
Payout: Direct to PayPal or your bank account.
Key Advantage: It uses a sophisticated matchmaking system to ensure you're only playing people at your skill level.

Well that's it for now make sure to join the SOGsolutions YouTube and WhatsApp channels to get more insights like these

Youtube - www.youtube.com/@SOGsolutions-Edu

Path To A Billion

Mindset Isn't Enough Anymore, But Action Is!

!!!READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO GROW!!!
• Mentally
• Emotionally
• Financially
• Spiritually
• Academically
• Socially
• and Magically

Are you the type that gets brightened up by a youtube creator saying - "full graphics course to make you a master" - well i'm not here to tell you that these things don't work, but to explain that - what wins the game is actually, and I quote - "going the extra mile(action mindset)".

In this write-up, I'd be sharing with you two main things, what i call the - (psychological tunnel), each divided into their branches.

• The Default mindset.
• The Winning or Action Mindset

WHAT IS THE PSYCOLOGICAL TUNNEL

Everyone on earth makes more than 1,000,000,000+ journeys in this life, and no - I'm not talking about travelling to Singapore or exploring the ruins of the ancient city - Rome, what i really mean is that, "for every thing you start and accomplish, even if it's as little as cooking up a dish of spicy hot pasta - you have completed a journey.

Some people get stuck during that journey and give up mid-race, and others get to the brink of finish but give up.

What am I saying?
The Psycological tunnel is simply the method you use to complete your journey!.

HOW DOES THIS CONCERN YOU?
Notice this - you may complete your journey, but still fill empty - I mean you have some sort of feeling that "WHY DID I EVEN GO ON THIS JOURNEY ANYWAY?"

Well the answer lurks deep between these two friends.
• The Default mindset
• The Winning or Action Mindset.

Why did I call them friends?

Ok, so unlike stopping a journey amid flight, these guys would actually help you complete one, it's just that one is very favourable, and the other - not so much(meaning you may have regrets if you complete a journey with it.

● THE DEFAULT MINDSET - Have you ever heard someone saying physically, or perhaps even in a youtube video or some blog - that

"THIS IS HOW THEY WOULD DO IT, IF THEY COULD START AGAIN!"

or perhaps,

"I REALLY WISHED I LEARNT TECH THIS WAY, INSTEAD OF HOW I DID INITIALLY!"

This is because when people start things initially - by nature it's their default mindset that's always triggered, which makes them to speed up things without really diving deep or even knowing what it's about, and there are also symptoms - to know if it's your (DEFAULT MINDSET) which is triggered.

Symptoms
• You have zeal instead of endurance -

when someone starts something because he or she see's others doing it, it's likely the person is engaging because you're zealous, not really passionate(because it's passion that brings endurance), and this is usually the first symptom.

•You pretend to know, when inside you're void of info -

No matter how we say it, only you can tell if you're being true to yourself, a key symptom of the (DEFAULT MINDSET) is lies, when you start lying to yourself - it's time to switch to the (WINNING 🥇 MINDSET)

• Procastination knocks your door constantly -

As you start a journey, if you jump in with the (DEFAULT MINDSET), it's rather rare or next to impossible to escape procastination, this makes you delay drastically, and the end of it always leads to giving up mid-way.

Now that we know about the (DEFAULT MINDSET) - let's move to the (WINNING MINDSET)

● THE WINNING OR ACTION MINDSET - As you've guessed this is the exact opposite of the (DEFAULT MINDSET), meaning it's the other side of the psychological tunnel, that helps you complete your journey with finesse.

The Winning or Action Mindset comprises of a range of things.
AND HERE THEY ARE -

• Passion, Passion Passion 👑
This is the crown of the winning mindset - (it immediately depicts someone who is action minded, and this is the first symptom of the winning mindset) - ask me why?

Because such a person would enjoy
▪︎ Teaching and sharing knowledge e.g via blogs, articles, social media and what not, this depicts action-.

▪︎ Building and Learning(Not Learning Only)
A high amount of people prtoritize learning over building and learning, and this is wrong ❌.
Building and learning are like twin sisters - who enjoy eating the same kind of snack,
when you feed LEARNING(sister1), and neglect BUILDING(sister2) it can be quite hazadrous.

• Failure Is A Step Not A Barrier - Everyone who has the WINNING 🥇 MINDSET automatically knows this(as it's part of them, I stumbled upon this saying once and i quote

"Practice not until you get it right, but until you can't get it wrong", it stuck 👌, but not only did it stick, it made me understand that failure was just an illusion you could choose to accept(by giving up) or use(by standing on top of it) - note not throwing away

N.B if you throw away your failures, you've wasted them!

You may not accept them(good), but you must always use them(e.g by learning from it), not just throwing it away), it's a tool that most people don't understand.

Well that will be it for now - you could always follow the SOGsolutions whatsapp channel to get more insights like this

https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbC5NXJIt5rwlOhhu017

Programmimg Paradigms An Overview(Object-Oriented Programming)

INTRODUCTION

Now Adays, we have different sorts of people some are orderly, others are lackadaisical, a handful are hardworking, and a few are reserved.

What am i trying to say?, because we have so many people with different characters, these people will also have their different approaches to evaluating things. Take for example!.

• Orderly People - always plan their things out
• Lackadaisical People - are laid back
• Hardwojung People - always persevere
• Reserved People - are always withdrawn.

Notice the trend, the same way attitudes vary among people, also applies to the logic behind the variety of programming techniques out there.

What is a programming paradigm? - A programming paradigm is a fundamental style of programming that deals with the creation of software, based on some basic principles.
These principles all have their different ways or styles of operation.

They include
● OOP(Object oriented Programming) - a paradigm where everything operates based on objects (related entities) and their classes(group)

● Event Driven Programming - a paradigm where the users interaction with an applications events are all that matters, e.g first event tapped - first to be called.

● Imperative Programming - a programming paradigm based on a commanding style - this follows an exact way a program is written without any modifications.

There are still many more paradigms including
● Functional Programming
● Aspect Oriented Programming e.t.c.
and so on, but today we'd be majoring on OOP.

OOP(Object oriented Programmimg) -

Just like i said earlier like many other paradigms, OOP also has it's style of software creation. It's is one of the most widely used programming paradigms, being supported by many modern programming languages including - Python, Javascript, Java and Golang(Go).

When we say a program was written with the OOP style - it literally means the entirety of the program was broken down into simpler units of relation called classes and objects, and literally everything is an object e.g can be assigned to a variable.

Classes - these are a collection of related fields of a particular entity that help group relations together.

Objects - these are units or rather blueprints of classes, they help break down the different possible types of a class.

E.g A Car class will have many attributes(fields) including Name, Brand, Production Year, Price, Color and so on. And the objects of the car class, will help break down the different possible car types e.g

Car1 - Name(Sports Car), Brand(Lamborghini), Production Year(2012), Price($400,000), Color(Red).

CODE IMPLEMENTATION

Let's say you are a car dealer, and you need to develop an application that displays the different qualities of your car to buyers, when the buyer clicks on the car - it displays the qualities, OOP will be a great fit for this job.

In the Example below we'd be using the Python programming language to implement this task, as its syntax is subtle.

Car Dealership

These are the parts, the car dealership deals with, Car - (Brand, Color, Publication, Price)
So we have 4 cars currently at the dealership.
To implement, we go as follows.

1 Class Cars:

def init(self, brand, color, publication, price):
self.brand = brand
self.color = Color
self.publication = publication
self.price = price

def onclick_show_details(self):
print("The car you clicked is a {}, it is color {}. It was produced in{}, and its price is {}").format(self.brand, self.color, self.publication, self.price)

This instantiates the class to create objects
car1 = Cars("Lamborghini", "red", "2012", 300000)
car2 = Cars("Toyota", "blue", "2008", 250000)
car3 = Cars("Honda", "white", "2017", "150000)
car4 = Cars("Nissan", "green", "2013", "100000)

This performs actions on the objects by invoking object methods
Car1_details = car1.onclick_show_details()
print(Car1_details)

The car you clicked is a Lamborghini, it is color red, it was produced in 2012 and its price is 300000.
CONCLUSION - There are still many more concepts on OOP including characteristics of OOP e.g, Abstraction, Polymorphism, Encapsulation and Inheritance, but we'd talk about that in another article.

OOP is a really used programming paradigm now adays, so it will be great to learn and grasp it's concept.

Building Your Pathway Consistently

You know reverse back to 2022, and I was this guy who was engrossed in Science and Math, all I wanted was to outshine my peers - in the best way I taught possible, which was by figuring out the technique to cracking the famous MATH ENIGMA.

It went like this, what’s behind the trick, "Take an even number divide it by 2, and then repeat the process, if you get an odd number multiply by 3 then add 1 - the result always evaluated back to 1.

Well, for the next 1 year, I battled hard with many more difficult problems like this one, 😭 funnily all to no avail, Spoiler -“also in 2022 I gained admission to study and get a CS degree at Caleb”.

Guess what, I paid no attention to Computer Science as I taught it was for weaklings, typical me 😄, Math all the way.

Fast-forward to the 2023/2024 academic session I met this roommate of mine who was a guru at programming, although a bit shy, I walked up to him and said - 🥲 Hey there bro, what you doing, and he said just developing a site with some code, hmm 🤔, CURIOUS ME - I asked myself what possible good could this Computer Science of a thing bring about.

THE BIG BREAK 👇 He gave me a piece of the iceberg that day, websites are just one of the many testaments of code today - He said. This prompted me to research more on the topic -and I remembered - since I’m a curious math learner, what could possibly go wrong with some puny code 😀, let me just try it out a little bit.

Yeah so I took a python course learnt the basics, and taught I was good, hmm, Was I??, Noooooooo😂. It turned out I was just getting started, Spoiler - "Good thing I was a legend at Math and already started a python course and learnt the basics, because my lecturer at Caleb taught advanced C++ for a start, how unfortunate 😔.

Well, the good news guys now I’m a thriving Software Engineer, with hands on experience with multiple languages including, Python, JavaScript and Java with a massive number of frameworks at reach.

Soo…🤔🤔 What did we Learn

a) Always pick one programming language at a time, and try to learn the basics of easier languages first.

b)Never get your hands on an emerging technology and remain clueless about it.

c)You don’t need a CS degree to become an efficient programmer, just Practice, Practice and guess what - More Practice.

Check out this portfolio I built with technologies like Svelte - JavaScript demonstrating my skills - deesogcode.netlify.app

Django - Python's Powerful Backend Framework - Discussion

Django is a massive contender for most of the beautiful and powerful server-side ends you see today. It’s MVT architecture help’s you to transverse between its database models and frontend rendered views, just in one codebase.

Here are 3 things you may need to know and understand about the framework

● *Django is heavily OOP based (Object oriented Programmimg) *- OOP is a programming paradigm based on the concepts of objects and classes, what this means is that literally everything in such a language that uses this paradigm is an object and can be assigned to a variable. e.g functions e.t.c.

Things ranging from Django Models, Forms, and Serializers require OOP for execution.

Objects - are instances of classes, they are formed by a combination of attributes(fields of a class).

Classes - These are the big guys that serve as templates(skeleton) for building Objects

● Django is a robust framework - Django has a lot of inner modules for functioning that can help you achieve your aim ranging from - authentication to Restful API design.

It’s robustness is what makes it one of the go-to technologies in today’s Backend Development world.

N.B - use django for massive projects and other smaller frameworks like flask for less bigger ones.

● Django has a steep learning curve - Although django is built on python, it’s robustness makes it quite persevering to mature along it’s path. You need to learn not only it’s MVT architecture but also, it’s different modules.

Learning Django requires you to actively and practically engage in it’s jurisdictions, by practicing dialy and building little projects
