Anatolia is one of the richest archaeological regions in the world. Farmers, hikers and history lovers in Turkey regularly come across old coins, pottery shards or strange carvings on rocks, and most of them have no easy way to learn what they are looking at.

So I built Defineciler, a free Android app: take a photo of a coin, an artifact or a rock carving, and the app tells you what it most likely is, which period and civilization it may belong to, and gives some historical context.

What it does

Identifies ancient and historical coins (Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman and more) from a photo

Gives a rough period and culture estimate for artifacts

Explains rock signs and carvings that people often photograph in the countryside

Turkish-first interface, completely free

An important note on the law
The app is educational only. In Turkey, cultural and natural heritage is protected by Law No. 2863: you must not dig or search for antiquities, and anything you find should be reported to the nearest museum or the local authorities. Defineciler does not encourage digging and does not help anyone buy or sell artifacts. The goal is curiosity and awareness, not treasure hunting.

Try it
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=online.defineciler.app

I would love feedback from other developers on the recognition flow and the UI. What would you add to an app like this?
