Warsaw → Bangkok in November, one adult, one way: the cheapest through-fare is 1297 PLN (~€300). The same trip split into two separate tickets with a 2–8 day stop in Abu Dhabi: 305 + 788 = 1093 PLN. 16% cheaper, and you get Abu Dhabi instead of an airport chair.</p> <p>Milan as the stop: −13%. Vienna: −9%. Doha: +32% (so it's not "always split").</p> <p>I built a search that does this automatically: you name two countries, it finds the stop where the two-ticket sum beats the through-fare and shows you the days in between.
