Now users can connect both to on-premises Oracle and Oracle Database Cloud — a Database as a Service (DBaaS) solution from Oracle — via secure SSL/TLS and SSH protocols in the Direct connection mode.

For the SSH protocol, Excel Add-in for Oracle supports public key and password SSH authentication. Thus, users can specify authentication type, SSH username and password or a private key and passphrase, acceptable ciphers, SSH host and port, etc. in the Advanced parameters when setting up a connection to Oracle.

dotConnect for Dynamics CRM Now Supports OAuth 2.0 Authentication

Devart announced support of OAuth 2.0 authentication in dotConnect for Dynamics CRM.

Devart, a recognized vendor of professional database management software for developers and data connectivity solutions, released the new version of its popular ADO.NET provider, dotConnect for Dynamics CRM v1.10. The new product version allows users to connect to Dynamics CRM using OAuth 2.0 authentication and also supports MultiSelect Option Set columns.

From now on to use OAuth 2.0 authentication users have to create a connection in Server Explorer via web login and then use it in necessary applications. Alternatively, they may register an OAuth application in their Azure AD tenant and then use its client ID and client secret to obtain OAuth tokens in order to create a connection at run-time.

dotConnect for Dynamics CRM is an ADO.NET provider for working with Dynamics CRM data through the standard ADO.NET or Entity Framework interfaces. These are the key changes that merit special attention:

Support for preview versions of EF Core 5.0 and .NET 5.0. Also, the vendor assures to update the support for new versions of EF Core 5 in Entity Developer when they are available.
C# 8 Nullable Reference Types. EF Core, Entity Framework 6, and NHibernate templates in Entity Developer 6.8 now have the Nullable Reference Types property that specifies when С# 8 nullable reference types and non-nullable reference types must be generated.
Collection Navigation Properties. Entity Developer 6.8 implements an ability to select a collection type for navigation properties, and which non-abstract type to use for property initialization (or don’t perform it at all).
DEFAULT Column Values. A new Primitive Default Value Generation property was added to templates for Entity Framework, EF Core, NHibernate and Telerik Data Access ORMs.
Console Entity Developer. The console version of the application got the support of stored procedures and functions import, as well as a number of fixes for existing functionality.
NuGet and Third-party Providers. We have continued to work on this support, and the new Entity Developer 6.8 has significant improvements for System.Data.SQLite and FirebirdSql.Data.FirebirdClient providers for EF6 and NHibernate models as well as for Microsoft.Data.Sqlite for EF Core models.

They can perform web login to Dynamics CRM instead of specifying their user id and password in the connection settings.
