Product Designer vs UI/UX Designer : Differences !

This is the most common question I have asked numerous times! I tried to give summarized version explanation in this article.

Who is a Product Designer ?

A Product Designer has many names. You may have heard of titles like:

Experience Designer (XD)

Information Architect (IA)

Interaction Designer (IX)

Experience Architect (XA)

Basically, a product designer is responsible for the experience of a product, usually taking direction on the business goals and objectives from product management. as a tech startup founder and CEO, I worked with a product designer closely. we can also define post like - A Product Designer is someone who uses the different facets and tools of design to create and execute a solution that solves for a user’s experience deficiencies.

Who is a UI/UX Designer?

Professionally i am UI/UX designer, so i can better explain you what is UI/UX designers actually do ?

UI/UX designers work with user interaction as their main focus, ensuring they're continually improving the usability & accessibility of the product

First things first: What do UX and UI actually mean? The people you have eavesdropped on are actually discussing two professions that, despite having been around for decades, and in theory for centuries, have been defined by the tech industry as UX and UI design.
UX design refers to the term “user experience design”, while UI stands for “user interface design”. Both elements are crucial to a product and work closely together. But despite their professional relationship, the roles themselves are quite different, referring to very different aspects of the product development process and the design discipline.

What are similarities between product designer and UI/UX Designer ?

both designers will go through the design thinking process and maintain a human-centered approach when it comes to design. Both have a market research aspect to their job (although naturally, the UX designer will dive deeper into the user testing)

Differences
UI/UX designers and product designers have a fair few differences in their job specs.
One of the best ways to distinguish between a UX designer and a product designer is the questions they ask.

for example
While a UX designer might ask:
"Is this product easy to use?"

A product designer might ask:
"Does this fit well with the needs of the business as well?"

I think you get the right answer through this aricle, share it on all your socials.

2. Appium (Android & iOS)
