CreatorConfig: PCPartPicker for streaming & podcast gear

CreatorConfig helps you build a streaming, podcasting, or content creation setup that actually works before you buy. Get compatibility checking, setup warnings, and complete gear lists with one click.

The Stack

Frontend: React + TypeScript + Vite

Styling/UI: Tailwind CSS + custom component patterns

Backend: Node.js (ESM) + Express-style API routes

Database: PostgreSQL

The Product

CreatorConfig is a creator gear setup platform where users can build, save, and share complete streaming/podcasting/content-creation setups.

Core product pillars:

Builder-first workflow: pick parts by category (mic, camera, interface, mixer, etc.) in a structured flow.

Setup publishing system: keep setups private, publish publicly, or feature curated completed setups.

Setup detail pages: each setup has its own URL, story content, product breakdown, and buy links.

Profile ecosystem: users can manage setups, saved items, and activity from account/profile pages.

Discovery layer: browse parts, completed setups, and community builds with cleaner SEO-friendly routes.

Goal: make choosing creator gear less guesswork and more systemized.

Introducing PCPARTGUIDE - Online Tool Box

Hey everyone, just wanted to share a project I’ve been working on. I’ve officially launched pcpartguide.com, a website packed with fast, free tools for handling images and audio directly in your browser.

I just wanted to build a space where you can convert files, apply effects, or tweak audio without downloads or messy, overloaded layouts.

Everything runs in your browser, and none of your files get uploaded anywhere. It all happens on your device.

Right now the site includes tools like JPG to PNG, BMP to JPG, audio reversers, glitch effects, sepia filters, oil painting effects, and more. It also works well on mobile, which was important to me.

I'm building this out tool by tool and focusing on clean design and performance. I’ve also started adding things like batch processing and more advanced filters for people who want to do more with less effort.

 Why I built it:

Most free tools out there feel clunky, outdated, or overloaded with distractions.

There’s barely any proper bulk functionality, especially for converting or editing multiple files in one go.

I felt like I could improve on the user experience and interface by keeping things clean, fast, and easy to understand.

I wanted something I’d personally use daily without getting frustrated.

What you can do on the site:

Use a clean and distraction-free interface

Upload and convert multiple files at once

Use it easily on both desktop and mobile

Convert images, tweak audio, and apply creative effects

No account or login needed

Bookmark specific tools to jump back in anytime

Expect new tools and improvements regularly

 Moving forward

The plan is to keep expanding the toolset with more useful options while keeping the overall experience simple and fast.

I’m also working on introducing AI-powered tools for things like transcription, enhancement, and smart filtering to give users more powerful results without adding complexity.

The focus will always stay on making tools that are easy to access, quick to use, and genuinely helpful without getting in the way.

Would love any feedback, ideas, or suggestions for tools to add next. You can reach me at dewayne@pcpartguide.com.
