Coding on a 6-inch Screen: My AI Journey from Nepal 🇳🇵

This is a submission for the Gemma 4 Challenge: Write About Gemma 4

Namaste everyone! 🙏
My name is Dipesh Kushwaha. I am a developer from Nepal, and I have a secret: I don't have a laptop.

A few weeks ago, my laptop stopped working. For a developer, this feels like losing your hands. But I know PHP, Flutter, and Kotlin, and I didn't want to stop learning. So, I decided to continue my journey using only my mobile phone.

Testing Google Gemma 4 on Mobile 📱
When I heard about the Gemma 4 Challenge, I wondered: "Can a phone-only developer use high-end AI?"
I opened Google AI Studio on my phone's browser and started talking to Gemma 4. I asked it to help me with a Flutter UI problem.

What I found:
Speed: Even on a mobile network in Nepal, Gemma 4 was fast.
Accuracy: It gave me clean code that I could easily understand and use.
Education: It didn't just give me code; it explained why it used certain widgets.

Why this matters for developers like me
In countries like Nepal, not every student has a high-end Macbook. Sometimes, all we have is a phone and a dream.
Gemma 4 is "Open." This means it belongs to everyone. Having a powerful AI that I can talk to on my phone feels like having a senior developer sitting next to me, helping me even when I don't have a desk or a computer.

My Conclusion
You don't need the most expensive laptop to be a part of the AI revolution. You just need curiosity and the right tools. Gemma 4 is one of those tools.
I am learning Python now, and I am doing it one tap at a time on my screen. 🚀
To my fellow developers: If you have a laptop, be grateful! If you don't, don't give up. The AI is here to help us all.

Namaste! 🙏
My name is Dipesh Kushwaha, and I am a developer from Nepal. I am very excited to finally join the dev.to community and share my journey with you all!

What I do 🛠️
I love building things that work on the web and on mobile phones. My current "toolkit" includes:
🎭Web: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
🎭Mobile: Flutter, Kotlin, and Java.

What I am learning now 🐍
Right now, I am spending my time learning Python. I want to use it to build smarter backends and automate my work.

Why I am here
I joined this community to:
✴️Share small tips about what I learn.
✴️Document my progress as a developer.
✴️Make friends with other developers around the world.

I believe the best way to learn is to help others.
What are you currently learning?
what is your favorite programming language?
Let’s talk in the comments!
Happy coding! 😊
