How can I style my hoverable background color to take full width in a display:flex styling?

I have a navigation link nested in a div class, on hover, the background-color is only around the text content. I want it to take the full width since the display is given a flex-direction of column

I've been on this journey getting to 2 years now but I've never build any reasonable website on my own.

Please suggest to me how to take my coding to the next the level. I'm done with html and css, I mean the basic but I've never build anything on my own. Please help me suggest for me the next stage and stuffs that can help me build a website from scratch. I need to take my coding to a greater height. I also want to work with people with like mind as a group.

How can I put all over learned into used?
