Professional : Had a couple of meetings and worked on a new starter application. I also recorded a demo video of the other starter application I made and posted it to social media.
Personal : I got the Bandcamp posts created and went through a bunch of tracks for the radio show.

The plan for tonight is to get the tracks for the radio show rolled up and pack for my trip tomorrow. I still haven't uploaded the pictures from my last work trip. Looking to do that so I can free up some space on my phone. Going to eat dinner and get to work.

Day 1432 : The Return

Professional : Only had one meeting today and spent the rest of it finishing up this starter project for a hackathon next week that I will be doing a workshop at. Had a couple of hiccups, but I was able to finish it and even add a couple of features I wasn't even planning on. I saw that some more data was available when I implemented a feature and repurposed it for a whole new feature I wasn't planning for. I think it's a pretty good project that a participant at the hackathon will be able to build on top of. Ended the day clean up the files, writing some instructions to get the app running and then did some research to see which starter application I'll build next. Going to do a demo of it tomorrow in the team meeting.
Personal : Last night did not go the way I planned. A package that I ordered was delivered, but the thing that I ordered was not in the box so I had to spend time contacting the company to let them know and get a return label, which then I need to print and then put the item back in the box with a slip, tape back up and put on the return label. At least I got all the project I'll be picking up on Bandcamp this week selected. Since I'll be traveling on Friday, I'll be doing my posts a day early. I also did a little work on the starter application that I finished today.

Going to work on the Bandcamp posts and start putting together the radio show for this week. My timeline has been pushed up a day since I'll be traveling. Going to eat dinner and get started on my tasks.

Day 1431 : Family

Sunday : I worked on building this website for an upcoming project running into all types of obstacles. haha
Monday : It was Labor Day and I labored! haha I didn't sleep from Sunday to Monday working on this project. Great news is that I was able to get it launched! You can check it out at https://HIPHOP.family
Professional : Basically spent the day working on a starter application for participants of an upcoming hackathon that I'll be attending. I really leaned on AI to help explain this new (to me) framework that has A LOT of different features. I was able to get an example working on my local machine. Had a meeting with my manager and we spoke about what I'll be working on this week and the upcoming event. After that meeting, I went back to working on this project and made some pretty good head way.
Personal : I'm so happy that I got this project up and running on https://HIPHOP.family I let the artists know I updated the website and had a question. Waiting to hear back and I'll send out an email to folks that purchased past projects to let them know there's new stuff available to check out.

I think I'll go through some tracks for the radio show and Bandcamp. After that, I may get back to working on that starter project for work. It's pretty interesting. There's other projects I want create for this hackathon so the sooner I get this completed, the better. Plus, my brain is too tired to do anything else. haha AI is pointing me in a good direction and I don't have to struggle like I did with getting HIPHOP.family updated (hopefully). Going to eat dinner and get to work.

Day 1430 : Until

Professional : Today went by in a blink. Started the day off with a catch up meeting with some team members. Got to meet with the newest person on the team. Then I spent some time finishing up a task that was taking me forever to do. I did nothing until I got it done. Had lunch. Worked on a new starter application with a framework. Went through a bunch of documentation and sample. Then the day was over.
Personal : Last night, I got the social media posts ready for the projects that I will pick up on Bandcamp Friday. Did some stuff for my business. Worked on the radio show. Did some work on this upcoming project.

Going to work on the radio show for tomorrow. Also I would like to work on the website for my upcoming project. Pretty much it. I need to get this website done and launched by Monday. Day 1429 : One Step Ahead

Professional : Spent most of the day in meetings, but I did get to see a really cool demo. Worked on a sample application.
Personal : So yeah, getting the news that my laser needs to be replaced really bummed me out. haha It was literally the last piece to the puzzle for this project! Last night, I picked the projects I'll be picking up on Bandcamp this week. I also worked on the project's webpage and hit a road block with getting the checkout page to show up properly. Went to sleep thinking about a solution.

Woke up early and thought of a solution to my checkout issue and got that working. That lead me to think of other optimizations I could apply and had AI help me put together the pieces. During my lunch break, I packed up my laser (taking a bunch of pictures of the items I was shipping, just in case) and dropped it off at the shipper. Hope I get my new machine soon, so I can ship these (hopefully, many) orders in a decent amount of time. I'm not sure if I'm going to meet my deadline to be able to release this site by tomorrow. I keep running into random issues. I think I got the check out situation figured out. I need to implement the logic that AI helped me put together for some optimizations. There's some stuff I need to upload to a site. In addition to the project stuff, I still need to get the social media posts ready for tomorrow. I also got to start putting together tracks for the radio show this week. Also, a person I really don't know asked me to do something a while ago (before going on the road for the workshop series) and I haven't had time to do it and have it actually be good. haha. I still haven't updated my travel site with pics and vids from my trip and I have more upcoming work trips. There's a lot happening. Going to take it one step at a time and get things done till I can be at least one step ahead of my tasks. First, going to eat dinner and get to work.

Day 1428 : Runnin

Professional : Pretty good day. Had a few meetings, created some tickets and worked on a new demo. Also, the video I posted yesterday got some pretty good traction.
Personal : Last night, I worked on getting a version of the site for this upcoming project. I first tried updating the framework, but that broke the hosting. I rolled back and got it working. I also picked Bandcamp projects for this week. I also modified the models for this upcoming project.

Since coming back from the workshop series I feel like I've been running to get caught up. Stuff with work and this project. I got the models sized properly and printed so everything fits. When I went to use my laser to engrave the designs, they came out super light on the 3D parts or not at all on black acrylic. Spent a bunch of time after work talking with the manufacturer and it was determined that they will replace the machine. I have to send it back (good thing I still have the box) and once they get it and inspect the machine, they will send me another one. Problem is that I was planning on releasing this project this week. Got a lot to do and going to eat dinner and get to work.

Day 1427 : First of the Month

Professional : Woke up this morning and decided that I would create a new version of a walk through an application I made that uses the Vonage Voice API, WebMCP, and the Prompt API. I sent the video to a couple of folks that work on the technologies. It took longer than I thought to get the video recorded. First, there were storms that would randomly pop up. They are doing some construction next door so when it wasn't raining there was heavy duty machines making noise. Going through the application, I realized that the full phone number shows up in a notification so it would have been in the video. I refactored the code and deployed a new version. Finally got a good recording and placed it on social media.
Personal : Last night, I went through some tracks for the radio show. I also made some measurements and modification of 3D prints.

I printed the models I modified last night. The measurements are a little off, plus the stuff I'm putting in won't close property, so more revisions will be made and printed tomorrow. It's also the first of the month so I'll be paying my bills tonight. I also want to get Stripe integrated into the site I made for this project I want to release this week. I've done it before, but I think I'm going to put the code into AI and see what it comes up with and match it against what I had previously. First I need to take the HTML, CSS and Vanilla JS and drop it into an Astro project. Hopefully it's as smooth as previous projects. Going to eat dinner and get started with work.

Day 1426 : Hang It On The Shelf

Saturday : This was my first take back in the studio to do the radio show. Felt good to be back for at least a couple of weeks. The recording of this week's show is at https://kNOwBETTERHIPHOP.com

Sunday : First Sunday back home in a minute. Felt good, but I had a bunch of stuff to do, mostly laundry. While I was doing that, I spun up a quick skeleton of a website for a project I'm looking to launch this week. I also looked over a bunch of previous work to see if I could use them in this project. Good news is that it looks like I can so shouts to past Dwane!
Professional : Today I had a meeting to start the day off and another one for my weekly catch-up with my manager. Basically spent the day submitting expense reports for my recent travels and researching and booking upcoming flights and hotels. The day flew by!
Personal : I decided that I'm going to pull one of the items I had planned for this upcoming project. I just can't get it the way I want and it's not only causing a delay, but it impacted the size of the packaging by a lot and increased manufacturing time. Also, to save on space, it would have to be assembled by the customer. I don't think I have the equipment yet to really see my vision through fully. I think it's best to just hang it on the shelf for now.

Going to work on getting everything ready for the aforementioned project. I want to finish up the website and get the ordering working so I can show the folks I'm working with. I also want to modify some of the 3D models now that the item will be removed so I can do a test print tomorrow. Going to eat dinner and get to work. I also keep forgetting to update my travel site with all the pictures and videos I took.

Day 1425 : The Format

Professional : The day flew by! Started the day hanging out with some coworkers in a virtual coffee chat type of meeting. We've got a few new people so it was cool to meet them. Spent the rest of the day cleaning up the application I made and demoed yesterday so I could get it pushed to our GitHub repo and then reached out to some folks to be beta testers.
Personal : Last night I worked on the application that I finished today. It was good that I did work on it because I ran into some random issues and I may not have been able to finish it today. I also purchased the Bandcamp projects for this week and got the social media posts together.

Main focus tonight is to get the radio show put together for tomorrow. If I have any extra time, I need to design a website for a project I'm putting together. At least get the format figured out. Day 1424 : Problems

Professional : Today I got to demo an application in the team meeting I built while I was out on the road. Good news is that everything worked and people seemed to like it. Another team member reached out to me to see if the application would work for what they are planning. Spent the rest of the day adding some more functionality to the application. Ran into a bunch of random problems like being rate limited and then unauthorized even though I didn't change anything dealing with that part. At least, I got to test and harden the error response in my code, haha.
Personal : I can't believe it's been like 20 days since I last posted here. The 5 city workshop series I did went pretty well. I enjoyed myself and people said they had a good time as well. I'm still updating my travel site https://Dwane.in with pictures and videos.

Feels good to be back posting. There's still some stuff I want to finish up on this application so I'll be working on that while putting together the projects I'll be picking up on Bandcamp this week. Also need to start working on this week's radio show. Going to eat dinner and get started.

Day 1423 : Street Clothes

Professional : Started the day determined to get this new Proof of Concept done. Had a roadblock yesterday that I couldn't do anything about until it worked itself out. The application is using AI to respond to a call and then do some things based on what the user says. Cool. No problem. Got it working mostly yesterday. Today was mostly trying to wrangle the responses from the AI so that it would be consistent. haha I literally told the model to not do something and it proceeded to do that thing! haha It's still experimental so I'm hoping it'll get better over time. I got it working consistently enough where I recorded a quick demo so I can send it to some folks to get their feedback. After getting all that done, the day was basically over. It flew by!
Personal : Got my laundry done. Got all the Bandcamp projects selected and put together the social media posts. Also did some brainstorming for a couple of designs for slipmats that I want to get done before I head out for my work trip.

My focus for tonight will be to get the radio show ready for tomorrow. Then I want to iron and pack my clothes in the suitcase. Got to have enough street clothes and work clothes to last awhile till I can get to a laundry mat or if one of the hotels have something. Also need to make sure I got all the tech I'll need on the road in my backpack. Definitely need to get these custom slipmat artwork done so I can print them tomorrow before I head to the station to do the radio show. Day 1422 : Dirty Laundry

Professional : Today was my first full work day back from my trip to do the workshop. It went pretty well. Everyone was able to get the application up and running and even got to play around and change some stuff. I've learned some things to take to the future workshops coming up. On the train ride back yesterday, I had an idea to send a prototype I've been working on for the job to integrate one of our products. I went back and forth with AI to make sure what I was thinking was currently possible. So between meetings, I worked on the application. I'm super close to getting it working. I ran into an obstacle that was beyond my control and had to wait for it to sort itself out. I've been also exporting and uploading video footage I took all day! Then it started to rain heavy and my internet went out. Got to love Florida weather. So I had to use my phone's hotspot which slowed things down. Hopefully, I'll be able to knock out this application and possibly one more so I can use it in my workshops.
Personal : So yeah, good to be back, even if it's for a short amount of time. I took a few pics and videos and posted them on my travel site at https://Dwane.in/CHFmiami Met a lot of cool folks. I'm still recovering. I wish the trains had more travel times.

There's a bunch of stuff I want to get done and not enough time. haha I've been washing dirty laundry all day. Still need to pack for like the next 3 weeks on the road. I want to get a bunch of tracks ready for the radio show while I'm out. I'll probably bring my laptop with me so I can work on tracks. I'm going to go to an event while in Atlanta so I want to create some custom slipmats to give some folks. I'll probably work on the design tonight so I can print them tomorrow. Luckily, it's pretty quick. I also need to prep some of my equipment so they don't leak while I'm out. But I'll do that tomorrow. Tonight, I want to get some design work in, pick projects on Bandcamp and buy them tomorrow since it's Bandcamp Friday. I'll get the social media posts ready from tonight though. Going to eat dinner and get to work.
