It seems like everything transferred over to the replacement phone. I've been using it the past couple of days and I haven't come across anything I'm missing. I did a factory reset so I should be good to send it back. This morning, I think I may have come up with a way to get this switch to work on this item. I used my laser to put designs on some of them. Ran into some weird issues that I'll have to figure out. Looks like I may have already made the necessary changes to a model because when I printed it, it was too large now. I'll and try to undo what I did and print another one this weekend. I'm going to have to do some more thinking about this switch because it's not working how I want. I may have to make it like a toggle light switch or something. While I'm marinating on a solution in the back of my head, I'm going to buy my Bandcamp picks and get the social media posts together for tomorrow. Also going to work on the radio show for this week. I was able to add a couple of functions to a GitHub Actions script so that it could run a tutorial that someone else, that's no longer at the company, wrote that didn't use the framework that I created and it didn't work. Luckily, with what I created, I was able to copy over their steps and run it through the process to get it working. Now, they did do something weird, but if they would have just asked me instead of going off on their own and building something that doesn't work, if like 15 minutes, I could have it working for them and I wouldn't be stuck going over their tutorial now. It's fine. So I was working on that for the whole day and when I was about to sign off I saw a response to a reply I sent early (to a message that I was not going to reply to, but I got tagged in it. haha) that basically threw my whole day off. It just feels like I keep going round the block over and over again. It feels weird being told I'm wrong about a thing that I created and the issues keep arising because the person refuses to read things fully and make incorrect assumptions. While trying to get things working, I part fell off. I decided that I would buy another one and then I can compare my old one with the new one and see if I can find where the part fell off and see if I can fix it. In the meantime, I'll have the new printer to work on this project and get the old printer fixed at some point. A couple of weeks ago, I updated the software on my phone and it looks like it stopped the front screen from recognizing touches and when I plug it in to charge, there's a question mark next to a blank space where the battery percentage would normally be. I've been paying for insurance on my phone monthly for things like this, so I put in a claim and I guess it's a known issue because they are going to send me a new phone that is the newest version of the model. </p></li> <li><p>Professional : Basically spent the day responding to some folks and trying to figure out Android development. haha I hit a roadblock at the end of the day so I'll figure it out tomorrow.</p></li> <li><p>Personal : Now that my website it deployed. My focus this week is to get these items for this project production ready. There's a few tweaks I need to do, but they are in a good spot currently. With the printer down, it kind of pushed things back. I've never done Android development before and ran into an issue. I literally had no clue what the error was saying. haha Luckily, there was a "Fix it with AI" button. I clicked it with the quickness! haha I logged in and it started doing it's thing analyzing the error, changing some code (after I allowed it), testing the changes and repeat until the application built correctly. Honestly, it was pretty amazing watching it work. Now, I can see the dangers of this being a crutch for folks. I made sure to read through what and why the AI was doing to the code so that I could understand. Would I have known what to do initially? I tried to explain my vision and added some video stills to Google Gemini. It came kind of close, but not what I really wanted. I replied trying to be more specific, but it was like it was listening to me. I had to start the process on another page. Had a meeting with some folks to prep for a presentation we have tomorrow. Had another meeting with a whole side of the company I never really knew about before. It was good to hear from folks from other sides of the company and see what they are working on. Got some good ideas for possible applications to build in the future that could possibly help with what they are doing. I sent the email about possibly collabing with some folks on some workshops were are planning. Spent the rest of the day putting together some stuff to write a blog post on a project I made.</p></li> <li><p>Personal : Paid my bills for the month last night. I then did a bunch of work on the website I'm looking to launch. My battery was at 2%. I scoured the net to see if I can find a replacement but it seems like the manufacturer has discontinued my model and any parts for it. Awesome. I found and bought some third-party options, but I won't know until they get here. They are arriving at different times starting tomorrow since I need something ASAP! The good news is that it was pretty sunny today and my battery charged to like 70% with only my solar panels. The only think I have in is my fridge which is really power efficient. We'll see. I decided that I would set up a DTF printer that I got last year and never used. I didn't have a need at the time. I'm thinking about creating some items that I can use it for. So I get everything ready and about to pour in the inks and notice that the White ink didn't see right. I looked it up and it seems that the ink can go bad after a year. Did a bunch of research to see what I needed to do. I ordered some more ink from the manufacturer, but I'm not sure how long it will take. I did some research on other ink manufacturers, but it seems like it's best to stay with the manufacturer's brand. I also started working back on my company's website since I got the word that one of the clients wanted to shout me out on social media since that really liked what I made for them.</p></li> <li><p>Professional : Today was pretty good. Had a meeting to start the day. Spent the rest of the day reading over an email I'll be sending to see if we can get some pre-production hardware for some workshops I'm working on. I want it to be as informational as possible. Trying to get on the wave before everyone else. Had a meeting with my manager and spoke about a bunch of topics. I had them run through a tutorial I finished up last week and they were able to get it up and running with no issues. There were a couple of tweaks to the UI that I needed to change, so I did and pushed another version of the tutorial.</p></li> <li><p>Personal : So, I started back work on my company's website. The catalyst was that the folks who I made some products for said they really like them and wanted to shout me out on social media so I need to have a thing people can learn more. The structure was already there, I just need to fill in some content. Got to catch up with some coworkers. After that, I continued working on this tutorial. Then I had a meeting that pretty much went like all the other meetings we had in the past. A person asking to simplify a process, but not giving any concrete issues that they ran into. Then they built a non-working application and wants us to make our application like theirs. But their application doesn't work. So you want me to break my application? haha If the issue is that they can't use our application, I've asked multiple times for feedback. Needless to say that my stress level was elevated after the meeting. My manager and I had to have a talk afterwards. haha For the rest of the day, I listened to music and finished the final tutorial that I had to create.</p></li> <li><p>Personal : Did a bunch of research last night into what I could do to make this prototype worker. One thing was the battery that I planned on using was too large for the size constraint of the item I'm creating. I found that there's a smaller version that fits perfectly. Problem solved. I also think I figured out how I want to connect some parts of this item. I asked Google Gemini about it and laying out all the different criteria and requirements I needed. It didn't give a full solution, but it did spark an idea for me about what I could do. It was good seeing everyone. I continued to work on a tutorial. I probably spent way too much time drafting an email trying to get a development kit from a company so I can build some demos with it. Also looking to use it in a series happening later in the year. I went back and forth with AI to help me put it together. I think we came up with something pretty good. It has access to different documentation in the company and I was able to pull some facts and figures.
