Why we built ServerOS around the servers you already own

Today the ServerOS team is launching ServerOS in beta: one panel for the servers you already own.

 The problem

For years we've watched the same thing happen. A team starts with one server. Then there are five, across three providers. Someone set up the backups, maybe. Nobody is quite sure what's running on the old box, or what happens if it goes down at 2am.

The usual answer is to move everything onto a new platform. Most teams don't want that. They already have servers that work. They just want to see them, look after them and stop worrying about them.

 What ServerOS does

One-command install on any Linux server, from any provider.

Discovery: it finds what's already running (containers, services, databases, scheduled jobs).

Adopt without rewriting: take over anything it finds without restarting or changing it.

Day-2 ops in one place: deploys, one-click backups and restores, rollbacks that include your data, uptime checks, alerts and status pages across every machine.

No lock-in: if you ever leave, everything keeps running where it is.

AI-assistant friendly: connect Claude or another assistant to your workspace and let it check what's down or restart a service, within the same permissions as the rest of your team.

 Why "bring your own server"

We deliberately didn't build another hosting platform or ask you to migrate. Your servers, your provider, your bill. ServerOS just handles the annoying parts.

 Pricing

Plans start at £5/month, and every workspace gets 14 days of Pro free.

 Try it

It's a beta, so there are rough edges. Thank you to the early users who told us exactly what was broken. If you run servers, we'd love you to try it and tell us what's missing: serveros.com

Disclosure: this post is from the ServerOS team.
