Higher-level system monitoring tools often carry unnecessary execution overhead. akv-sysmon parses /proc/meminfo and /proc/stat directly in C, compiled with -O3 optimizations. In synthetic benchmarks using stress-ng (2 CPU stressors + 5.8GB RAM allocation), telemetry extraction completed in under 0.001s with zero memory leaks.
