What's better than Give-A-Ways and Merch?

It's the Holiday Season!
And I want to give YOU something!

6 months ago I fell in love. ❤️

For 10 years I was confused as to why I was always bored, no matter what position I held. I was tired, passionless, and annoyed. I wanted a change, I NEEDED a change...so I quit...with no backup plan. I came across blogs about coding and began to learn things about software, sites, tools, and languages and I couldn't stop soaking in the information and earned certificates from SoLo Learn and Flatiron.

After a couple of months, I took an internship to learn all about how to recruit for technical positions. I not only learned how to be a top recruiter...but I found who I am, and what I was passionate about. I now work for Talent Solutions Group, a company that focuses on not only the clients' needs but also the candidates. I am also able to be who I am with no boundaries - a helper, a researcher, a giver, a friend...and your door to your next career move.

Or maybe you're a company growing fast and needing to fill positions fast, reach to Ken, Rick or Adam for immediate team expansion!

Bloggers have Give-A-Ways, Youtubers have Merch, but TSG has open positions that bring passion and growth back in your career.
The Holidays are here, let us open your new door for 2020!

-Erica Austin (Sr. Tech Recruiter @ TSG)

"UI" AND "UX" OR "Visual Design" AND "Product Design" onsite:opportunity

Or in other words, we are looking for UI and UX (also known as Visual and Product Design) for a full-time opportunity. We are proudly working with one of the fastest-growing start-ups in Silicon Valley. Fortune Magazine mentioned them as being of LinkedIns 'Most Wanted' Startups last year. Wall Street Journal gave acknowledgment to their practiced 'Radical Transparency', and John Chambers agreed when he said they "will be one of the hot stocks of the next decade", on Bloomberg TV.

Their successful growth has created your biggest opportunity as they seek exceptional Visual (UI) and Product Designers (UX). The ideal candidate for UI should have at least 3 years experience, UX candidates will have 4. All designers should have a background with working on web-based products, preferably for an enterprise company. If you are comfortable with startup environments and can push yourself beyond the limits of traditional design, then let's connect!

As mentioned above, this is a full-time onsite opportunity located within the infamous Silicon Valley. They provide a fun environment and offer perks that show their full appreciation for all employees. If you are currently outside of California and are willing to relocate, I encourage you to also connect with me for an additional opportunity. For immediate consideration for all designers, please send your portfolio showcasing you are as a designer, along with an updated resume.

*If know someone who would be a great fit for this position, please send a link to the LinkedIn profile, or have them reach out to me as soon as possible.

Best of Luck in all your journies,

After seeing several posts about recruiters and the lack of knowledge needed to properly submit the right candidate to the correct job, I wondered if there was anything else Engineers wished recruiters would do better? As a recruiter, I strive to be the best for both the client and candidate, please help me build a better experience!

A recruiter who codes: I hate it

About a year ago I began coding on my own, self-taught out of curiosity of what I was looking at. I had started a blog just like the rest of the world and accidentally hit a combination on my keyboard that brought up the developer tools. I utilized Google and began to realize I could use this tool to change everything on my blog that I hated, literally becoming addicted to learning, changing and designing the look of my blog. Needless to say, my blog went nowhere because I was so consumed in the design of it!
Recently I started taking courses online, through SoloLearn, Flatiron, and mobile apps that have helped me further understand what it is I am doing. As a recruiter, we look for candidates who have obtained a masters in Computer Science or Software Engineering. I come across thousands of candidates who would be a perfect match for a client but cannot be submitted because of no degree/masters. This kills me because I have to admit, I have learned far more learning on my own than I have in the courses.
Now, I am sure going to a college and paying for education has in-depth learning, however, some of us do not have the ability to pay for our education. As a mother of 5, a wife and having a full-time job, there's no way I could add more debt on top of what I already have. So why is the recruiter and client world so against those who are self-taught? Are there companies who do not care about where your experience has come from, who would be more impressed by your GitHub, GitLab, portfolio, etc? I came into this tech world because of my genuine love and un-boxed freedom of creativity and got into recruiting to learn the different paths, meet different designers/engineers, and help others find their direction. At the same time...I am becoming frustrated with companies who only want to see you have gone through an on-site structured class that thousands of others have done, as opposed to the few who have devoted even more time learning it on their own...
