Tea Party With Claude

The title is real 👀😃

On July 25,2026 Reddit users discovered that by sharing a Claude chat with the option of anyone with the link, you’re basically creating a URL that’s accessible through search engines.😐

Let's say you want to share a Claude chat with a co-worker or even just for ChatGPT to continue it (we all do that 🙃). You would click share then you will see that it will be accessible for everyone with the link. No issues till now, right?

Well...accessible to everyone with the link means the chat is literally now accessible to everyone. Search the chat you shared on google and you will find it! 😬

Some say it was clear that it would be accessible for everyone but others argue that it should be but only with people having the link, not the entire internet.

Ever since that news, and multiple credentials, social security numbers, and API keys were leaked, putting there owners at serious risk.

Cybersecurity professionals say it is not really a security vulnerability; it is rather a UX format mistake where it is not very clear what "accessible" means.

What about you? Do you think it is a vulnerability or just a misunderstanding and wrong design from both the users and Anthropic?
