🚀 The Transition: Why I'm Moving from Hardware to Cloud AI

Hello Dev community! 👋

I'm an Electrical Engineering student, and for a long time, the "Cloud" felt like a black box of pure software that didn't apply to my world of circuits and signals.

But in 2026, the lines have blurred. With the rise of Agentic AI and Edge Computing, my background in hardware is becoming my greatest superpower.

 🎯 My Mission

I've officially secured my "Get Certified application" badge for the April 2026 GEAR cohort! My goal is to become a Google Certified Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) and eventually a Google Developer Expert (GDE).

 ⚡ Why EE + Google Cloud?

Coming from an EE background, I see the cloud as a massive, distributed circuit.

Data = Signals

IAM/Security = Fuses and Circuit Breakers

Compute Engine = Customizable Components

I'm choosing the ACE track because I want to understand how to build the robust infrastructure that allows AI agents to interact with the physical world.

 📚 What’s Next?

As a member of GDG Nürnberg, I’ll be documenting my 9-week journey here. I want to show other "non-traditional" developers and engineering students that you don't need a CS degree to master the cloud—you just need a builder's mindset.

Are you also in the 2026 GEAR cohort? Let’s connect in the comments!
