Project: Syncing Govee lights to sports events

I've been working on a project that syncs Govee lights to live sports scores (lumealert.com), and I wanted to share my progress. The idea is simple: when a team scores, the lights change color in real-time to match the excitement of the moment.

Right now, I’m pulling live game data and using the Govee API to trigger lighting effects. It supports multiple teams, and I’m working on adding Philips Hue integration as well. The goal is to make it easy for fans to get instant, automatic updates through their smart lighting setup. It's been quite difficult making all the users "happy" with timing- as streaming and live are completely different.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried something similar or has ideas on improving the experience. Thinking about adding more customization options—maybe different effects for goals, touchdowns, or home runs. Open to suggestions!

Syncing Live sports with Govee Lights

Hello all! I recently made a post on Reddit about making a website so we can sync govee lights with live sports scores. There was alot of interest, so off I went building a prototype. It's in a decent place to let some people give it a try, tell me what works, what doesn't etc. Currently, there are 2 scenes.

Scene one is "game day morning", which will automatically turn your lights to the color of your team. This happens around 3am est, on game day.

Scene two, is the classic scoring. Anytime your team scores, you can run a custom diy scene (that you created within the govee app) to play. This lasts 10 seconds then reverts back to your color.

I have so many more "scenes" in the works and plan to release 1-2 a week.

Im looking for beta testers to help get the timing down. Right now, it seems like sometimes the "scene" will run before a score is seen (especially if you're streaming the game), so I'm looking to make tweaks on the timing.

These lights will only work with wifi controlled devices.

If this sounds up your alley, please register at

www.stadium-weather.com/register

Note: after registering, you'll be brought to the dashboard where you can add your API key. There are instructions on that page how to do it.

Please don't hesitate to reach out on here, or email hello@stadium-weather.com if you have any questions, feedback, etc.
