The software industry is becoming more known and acknowledged these times, and the demand for programmers is getting higher. Some even change their careers from a not related job to being a developer by applying to bootcamps or just by being self-taught. And for some students, like me, programming lessons in college curriculum is not enough to grow as a developer. So, we look for other ways to learn. Sure, there may be a lot of online courses to enroll to, but believe me learning from mentors who actually do what they teach, learning with fellow individual with the same interests and having a direct interaction with them is better. That’s why I made a list of the coding training centers here in the Philippines

 Why you should attend trainings?

The languages, tools and frameworks they teach is updated unlike in school curriculum

You will learn technologies you won’t learn from school (e.g., using git)

The mentor works in the industry, so they teach what they do or their experiences unlike in school wherein most instructor teach from lesson plans and what they generally know in programming
Trainings will prove that you have the initiative in learning and improving your skills. So, it would be good for your resume.

You don’t just learn but you get to network and make connections. It may be your instructors or fellow students. Those connections will possibly help you in the future.

Here are the coding training centers in the Philippines:

Most of these coding training centers are the ones I have tried or where I graduated. Believe me, I have learned a lot from those trainings, from strengthening my programming foundations and learning advance topics, and helping me have an advantage when applying for internships.

 Ground Gurus

Ground Gurus, for me is the most affordable one among the other ones in this list. And the instructors really explain the topics well and make sure the learners understand the lesson.

Their trainings usually cost P500 for students and P1000+ for professionals. The training lasts for four days, or two weeks and the usual schedule is every weekends. They even choose the best output from the students and I was luckily chosen, and received another free training from them.

Here’s their Facebook page: Ground Gurus

 Uplift Code Camp

They also offer great short trainings and web development program for various programming languages and frameworks. I haven’t tried registering to them, but I am sure they teach with quality.

Here’s their Facebook page: Uplift Code Camp

Here’s their website: Uplift Code Camp Website

 Swiss IT Academy

They not only have coding trainings, but they also offer Microsoft Office and Digital Imaging trainings. What made Swiss IT Academy different is they not only offer online tracings, but they also give access students to their e-LMS which has great contents.

Here’s their Facebook page: Swiss IT Academy

Here’s their website: Swiss IT Academy Website

 Bayan Academy

I was able to graduate at Bayan Academy because of their free 8-day training, and was lucky to be one of the accepted students. They offer paid and free different sort of trainings especially about entrepreneurship. I know I needed to include them because the instructors were really great.

Here’s their Facebook page: Bayan Academy

Here’s their website: Bayan Academy Website

 3MFI Polytechnic Institute Inc.

MFI Polytechnic Institute is actually a school, but they also offer short courses. They also have free trainings and webinars too.

Here’s their Facebook page: MFI Polytechnic Institute Inc.

Here’s their short courses catalog: MFI Short Courses

UP System Information Technology Foundation, Inc.

I included this knowing that it’s organized by a university because I think they give quality education. It’s UP, guys. Their short courses are quite affordable compared to other bootcamps.

Here’s their Facebook page: UPSITF

Here’s their website: UPSITF Website

 Zuitt Coding Bootcamp

This one is a coding bootcamp, and the bootcamp is not that affordable, but I know I still have to include them because they sometimes offer free trainings and seminars.

Here’s their Facebook page: Zuitt Coding Bootcamp

Here’s their website: Zuitt Coding Bootcamp Website

 Other IT Training Centers

Camp Tech – Camp Tech Facebook page

Inventive Media – Inventive Media Faceboook page
Let’s keep learning guys! Share your thoughts or experience below to help others.

We hate slow laptop or PC, who doesn’t?

Maybe you’re a student who can’t study properly, finish online quizzes, or attend online classes on time because your PC slows you down or someone working from home with a PC that lags every time who doesn’t know how to troubleshoot because you’re not much of a tech person.

We all know, upgrade isn’t the first option because of budget.

But the steps below will surely somehow improve your experience with your device. However, do not expect your device to work twice faster than before, because these are just fixes, not totally an upgrade.

Temp Files 📁

These files are accumulated from all the software you installed in your device. These are safe to delete.

1.Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window
2.Type %TEMP% in the field
3. Click OK to open the Temp folder
4. Press CTRL + A to select all files
5. Delete the contents of this folder

Note: Not all files and folders may be deleted, because some of them are still in use

System Configuration 🔧

Press the Windows key, type and click System Configuration

1. Go to the Services tab
2. Check the Hide all Microsoft services
3. Uncheck all the services you don’t need (e.g. in my case, Google Update Service, VirtualBox system service…)

Startup

1. Go to the Startup tab
2. Open Task manager
3. Disabled all the app you don’t need in startup (e.g. Spotify, Viber, Google Drive Sync, Creative Cloud…)

Turn Live Off 📷

Press the Windows key to open Start

Right click on tiles such as games, Photos, Netflix and others…

Choose Turn Life Tile off

You can go to advance setting by opening Control Panel>System and Security>System

Remove unwanted programs 🖥️

Press the Windows key

Go to Add or remove programs

Uninstall what you don’t use

Windows Advance Setting ⚙️

You can go to advance setting by opening Control Panel>System and Security>System

4. Go to Advance tab
5. On the Performance, click Settings
6. Choose Adjust for best performance

Note: I suggest you check Smooth edges of screen font

Disk Cleanup 💿

Open File Explorer

Right click on the disk you want to clean and go to Properties

Click Disk Cleanup

Choose which you want to delete

Disk De-fragment 🖴

Lastly, if you have done everything above, and if your PC or laptop still works the same, maybe you finally need to defragment your disk

1. Open File Explorer
2. Right click on the disk you want to defragment and go to Properties
3. Go to Tools tab
4. On the Optimize and defragment drive, click Optimize
5. Optimize the drive you want

Hope these will help you with your PC or laptop going slow issues. Tell us about below if you noticed some changes on your device’s speed or if you did not.
