What's the best way to launch a new product?

I'm new to the digital product space and I've just published my first few items onto my Gumroad page, it's just a few simple things that I think could be useful to some fellow developers potentially, but I'm running into the problem of getting that very first sale. I'm trying to do the best I can to promote myself, but without a pre-existing audience or following, it's hard not feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle. Is there anyone else out there who's already been down this road, and if so, is there any advice or knowledge you'd feel generous enough to share with a newcomer? I'm working on creating python toolkits that help automate busywork for developers, and complete starter kits that can help get others up and running quicker by taking care of most of the boilerplate code for things like API integrations for AI and things like that, stuff that I already have some expertise in and have myself struggled through the pain of that very first setup. Thank you to anyone who reads this, and if you'd consider leaving me any feedback, here's my Gumroad page and stuff! <a href="https://dev.tomy%20gumroad%20page!%20<3">https://everbrightstudios.gumroad.com

If you could go back in time, and tell the version of you that's just getting started doing what you do now, what would you tell yourself?

Thank you to anyone who stops by, and I hope you have a wonderful day! :D

ShipFast API - Production-ready FastAPI SaaS Starter Kit

You've been here before.

It's day one of your new SaaS project. You spend the first three days wiring up authentication, configuring the database, setting up CORS, writing JWT middleware, and Dockerizing everything. Then you realize you haven't written a single line of your actual product.

ShipFast API gives you those first three days back.

It's a complete, tested FastAPI boilerplate with everything wired up and ready to go. Not a tutorial. Not a video course. Actual code you can deploy today

 What's Inside

Full auth system — Register, login, JWT access + refresh tokens, profile management. bcrypt password hashing, timezone-aware tokens, proper 409 on duplicate email. Done right.

Role-based access control — User and admin roles with guard dependencies. Protect any endpoint with a single function call.

Async database layer — SQLAlchemy 2.0 with async sessions, connection pooling, auto-commit/rollback, and a clean repository pattern.

Stripe webhook handler — HMAC signature verification with background task routing per event type. Subscription lifecycle covered.

Health checks — Liveness (
/health
) and readiness (
/ready
) probes for Kubernetes or any orchestrator.

Production config — Everything via environment variables. CORS, TrustedHost middleware, safe dev defaults.

Docker setup — Multi-stage build, non-root user, HEALTHCHECK instruction. docker-compose with app + PostgreSQL + Redis.

CI pipeline — GitHub Actions with lint (ruff) and test jobs using a real service container.

16 passing tests — Auth flows, duplicate registration, invalid credentials, unauthorized access, token refresh, health checks. pytest-asyncio with SQLite.

Complete documentation — README with features, quick start, full endpoint table, and production checklist.

 Tech Stack

FastAPI 0.141+ (async-first, Pydantic v2, automatic OpenAPI docs)

SQLAlchemy 2.0 (async ORM with connection pooling)

PostgreSQL + Redis

JWT access + refresh tokens (python-jose)

bcrypt password hashing via passlib

Docker multi-stage builds

GitHub Actions CI

Python 3.11+ (tested on 3.14)

What You Can Build With This

SaaS applications with user accounts and payments

API-first backends for React/Vue/mobile apps

Microservice templates for production deployment

MVPs you can ship in a weekend, not a month

 Requirements

Python 3.11 or newer

PostgreSQL 14+ (or use the included docker-compose)

Redis 7+ (optional, for caching/sessions)

Git

 What You Get

Complete source code (746 lines across 13 modules)

16 automated tests (all passing)

Dockerfile + docker-compose.yml

.env.example with every variable documented

README with quick start and production checklist

MIT license (use in your own projects, no resale)
