Why AI API Trials Are Getting Worse

The first thing many AI platforms ask for is a credit card.

The first thing developers actually want is proof that the model is worth paying for.

That mismatch is the part that feels backward. Before testing a workflow, benchmarking a model, or building a prototype, many services push billing first and experimentation

Aerolink is a unified API gateway for AI agent workflows, with API key management, usage logs, and balance-based access through prepaid, bonus, and plan limits. That matters because it changes the evaluation process from “pay first” to “test first.”

The promotion currently being discussed around Aerolink is unusually simple: more than $350 in free credits, no credit card at signup, and Telegram verification as the only onboarding step people are talking about. A third-party post on the web describes it that way, although the exact promo terms should always be checked on the live signup flow before relying on them.

The reason this matters is not the number itself.

It is the amount of room it gives for actual evaluation.

A model can look excellent in a benchmark and still be awkward in a real workflow. The only useful test is the one that matches the job: code generation, repository analysis, debugging, automation, agent behavior, or long-context reasoning.

That is where Claude Opus 4.8 becomes relevant. Anthropic describes it as an upgrade across coding, agentic tasks, and professional work, and AWS documents it as optimized for coding, agents, and deeper reasoning.

Claude Code matters for the same reason. Anthropic describes it as an agentic coding tool that lives in the terminal, understands the codebase, executes routine tasks, handles git workflows, and works across terminal, IDE, desktop app, and browser.

So the practical value here is simple. A developer can try a stronger model, test it in a real coding workflow, and see whether it actually fits the job before spending money. That is a better evaluation model than most AI trials offer.

For anyone comparing AI APIs, that is the part worth noticing.
