I got tired of sending resumes into the void, so I built an AI resume tailoring tool

Applying to jobs is honestly one of the most frustrating parts of career growth.

You spend time fixing your resume, submit it to dozens of roles, and then… nothing.

No rejection.
No feedback.
No interview.
Just silence.

A lot of people assume their resume is “bad,” but the problem is usually more specific:

The resume is not matched to the job description
Important keywords are missing
Bullet points are too generic
The resume is not ATS-friendly
The strongest experience is buried or worded weakly

That is why I started building [APP NAME].

It helps job seekers upload their resume and a job description, then finds ATS issues, missing keywords, weak bullet points, and ways to tailor the resume for that exact role.

The goal is simple:

Stop sending 100 generic resumes. Start sending better targeted ones.

What the app does

Right now, the main flow is:

Upload your resume
Paste or upload a job description
Get feedback on ATS issues, missing keywords, and weak bullets
Generate a more tailored version for that specific job
Use the improved version to apply with more confidence

I wanted it to feel less like a boring resume checker and more like a practical job application assistant.

Why I built it

Most resume tools either feel too generic or too complicated.

I wanted something that gives direct answers like:

“This bullet is too vague”
“This job asks for customer service, but your resume barely mentions it”
“You should move this experience higher”
“This bullet should include a stronger action verb and measurable result”
“Your resume is missing keywords from the job post”

Basically, I wanted the kind of feedback you wish a recruiter or career coach would give before you apply.

What I am still improving

I am still working on making the tailoring better, especially around:

Cleaner bullet point rewrites
Better keyword matching
Stronger ATS scoring
Job-specific resume suggestions
A smoother upload experience
Better UI for comparing the original vs tailored resume

I am also trying to make sure the app does not just stuff keywords randomly, because that makes resumes look fake. The goal is to make the resume more relevant while still sounding natural and honest.

Looking for feedback

I would really appreciate feedback from developers, students, job seekers, and anyone who has dealt with job applications recently.

I am especially curious about:

What would make you trust a resume tailoring tool?
Would you rather get suggestions first or instantly generate a tailored resume?
What resume problems do you see the most?
What would make this actually useful instead of just another AI tool?

Here is the app:

https://applyboostai.com/

Would love any honest feedback, feature ideas, or UI suggestions.
