On a Quest to Make my Own Party Game

Most of the time, when I visit my family, my father asks me to play a game of Mario Party with him and my siblings which makes for a very fun time. Recently, I've had a lot more free time and, to ensure I keep practicing my coding, I've embarked on an ambitious journey to make my own version of the beloved board/video game, all in Unity.

I started work on it today, I don't have THAT much so far, but I've got functionality for the menu set up, as well as a dice rolling mechanic with a dynamically changing textbox.

I plan on getting more done soon, and I will make sure to update those who want to follow me on my venture.

Created a Portfolio Website For my YouTube Channel

I cooked up a new portfolio site dedicated to showcasing the video work I do for my YouTube channel.

Outside of programming, most of my free time goes into producing and editing videos, and I've always wanted to push that skill further. The idea hit me: why not build a portfolio that highlights all of my editing projects so I can potentially take on editing work for others?

The site is now live, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. It presents my projects cleanly and does a great job showing the style and quality of my edits. Overall, a solid step forward toward expanding what I can do creatively and professionally.

https://freepirat.github.io/PiratDiment-Portfolio/

Creating a Website for Tier Lists

Similar to the existing website TierMaker, this website I've built was pretty much just a fun experiment to see my programming capabilities. This website is hosted on Github pages, this means that, to get a database system going, I definitely had to think out of the box.

All Tier List template information is stored into JSON files. Users can create, share and edit existing templates to their liking with multiple tools to customize the table.

There are definitely still some bugs and add-ons for this website, going forth, I plan on polishing it even more

Porfolio Updates

I've been giving my portfolio website a major visual upgrade!

I'll be completely honest, I’m no graphic designer....but I DO know how to bring said designs to life through code. Using a mix of tools and creative tweaks, I’ve made the UI cleaner...and way more stylish.

I additionally added a French language toggle, showcasing my bilingual skills and making the site more accessible.

Next up, I’m exploring new icon colors to refine the overall look. I don't exactly know if they fit the aesthetic currently, but I'll try and get the best look I can as soon as possible.

Here's the link if you'd like to view what I've created so far: https://freepirat.github.io/jakesoucy.github.io/
