WordPress is Underrated.

WordPress is a free and open-source CMS written in PHP, Initially released in 2003.

I have worked on more than 50 WordPress projects, and find it really easy to get started, especially if you're a small organization or can’t afford the proper development time of creating an application from scratch.

I don't understand why people hate WordPress so much. Few devs advise others to leave the WordPress website as it is not scalable, and has security issues (You are not suppose to use nulled plugins or theme).

People want to build their application on React in the influence that it is the only way to make it fast, and for that they have to adapt a latest framework on Python or Node.js or PHP, but Why do they want to redevelop the backend when It is available in WordPress by default?

My point here is not that WordPress is best and everyone should use it, but don't switch from WordPress under the impression that it is not scalable. especially when you already have an application built on WordPress, and you can totally have a Frontend on React or Next.js and Backend or admin panel on WordPress.

WordPress has functionality of REST api by Default no matter what kind of application you have, you can create its rest api endpoint, Also there are great plugins which can help you to have GraphQL endpoints and your frontend can be any JS framework.

Following are a few of my favorite open source git repo for headless wordpress, built on latest frameworks

WordPress React
WooCommerce with Next.js
WordPress blog with Next

Here I am not promoting it, Just want to understand if there is a real need to switch backend as well? when these features are available in WordPress and even easier to develop it.

If you are interested in getting your name in the people recommendation of Google. That not too hard and here I am gonna tell you how can you to do this.

But first Why should we do it?

So first of all If you are a professional and you want the people to get to you easily then you should try It. of course you shouldn't follow along if you're an undercover agent xD.

If someone searches A NAME along with your profession they will be able to find you.

Ex. "Gautam Jha Software Engineer"

What do you need to do this?

A mobile browser or a google search app

A google account

Web & App Activity turned on

Next, You need to create a profile card. Follow the steps and you're there.

Open Google Search App or google.com in your browser .

Search for the following key word.

add me to google

edit my people card.

You will find an option to add yourself to Google Search. Tap Get started.

Fill out the information that you want to share publicly on your card. These fields are required:

Summary in 350 words not sure.

Profession in Engineering or something.
Social Media: not necessary

Website: Your portfolio or Blogs

At the bottom, tap Preview.

If you're satisfied with your card, tap Submit.

Hope, This blog will help.

Important: Google doesn't guarantee that your card will show up on Google Search. So more precise data you will add more likely it will appear.

Currently, I am using VS code from a few years now and find it comfortable with the time. I will be mention out few of the extension I use alot and make my life a bit easier.

I recommend these plugins to everyone.

GitLens: GitLens will allow you to see the commits made by each and every developer whoever worked on the project line by line.

It will also allow you to better understand your code, helps you to effortlessly explore the history and evolution of a codebase.

You can search it in the extension explorer or run the following command on your system.

code --install-extension eamodio.gitlens

Copilot: This is cool, It is not the hero you want but this is the hero we need.

Sometimes we don't remember syntax or logic but copilot provides you some crazy suggestions sometimes help sometime don't, just like a pair programming buddy.

It support for almost all languages Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Java.

You can install it and register for it's access.

code --install-extension GitHub.copilot

Visual Studio IntelliCode:
This extension provides AI-assisted IntelliSense by showing recommended completion items for your code context at the top of the completions list.

Following command will help you with installation.

code --install-extension
VisualStudioExptTeam.vscodeintellicode

Few other recommendations are followng.

Auto Rename Tag: If you are a front-end developer this will help you automatically renaming tags when you rename tags in big DOM.

Prettier Formatter

Remote SSH

Live Server / Live Share

You can try these out to check what these are :)
