I wanted a lightweight place to capture the next task, start a focus session, and return to common links without moving between several apps.</p> <h2> What I built </h2> <p><a href="https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/mydash-%E2%80%93-new-tab-productivity-dashboard/hgdbmdemlcgeoffoijamkiejehecianj" rel="noopener noreferrer">MyDash</a> replaces Chrome's new-tab page with a personal workspace. The free core includes:</p> <ul> <li>A daily task list</li> <li>Notes and movable sticky notes</li> <li>A Pomodoro timer with breaks</li> <li>Quick links and web search</li> <li>Weather, headlines, and daily backgrounds</li> </ul> <p>The aim is not to turn the tab into a full project-management system. It is to keep the small actions that interrupt a work session in one familiar place.</p> <h2> Why the new-tab page </h2> <p>The page is already in the flow of a browser workflow. That makes it useful for light planning: capture a thought, check the next task, or start a timer before reaching for another tool.</p> <h2> Free core, optional Pro tools </h2> <p>The core planning tools are free. Optional Pro features include reminders, focus and site-blocking tools, calendar connections, ambient audio, and deeper customization.</p> <h2> Looking for feedback </h2> <p>I’m especially interested in how people balance useful widgets with a calm interface.
