What Winning #1 Product of the Day on PeerPush Taught Me as a Solo Developer

A few days ago, GhostPrompter was voted #1 Product of the Day on PeerPush. 🏆

As a solo developer, that moment meant a lot. Months of late nights, bug fixes, and small improvements finally led to something people genuinely appreciated.

But the biggest lesson wasn't about getting votes.

It was about listening.

Going into launch day, I thought success would mostly depend on traffic and rankings. Instead, the most valuable part of the experience was the conversations.

Users shared how they were using GhostPrompter in ways I hadn't even considered:

Online teaching
Client presentations
Technical demos
Live coding sessions
Webinars
YouTube tutorials
Sales calls

Several feature requests from launch day have already been added to my roadmap.

One thing I learned quickly is that people don't care about your implementation—they care about the problem you solve.

For GhostPrompter, that problem is simple:

Let people read their scripts without losing eye contact or covering their screen.

Everything else is just engineering.

Another lesson surprised me.

Before launching, I spent weeks polishing the landing page, screenshots, and demo video.

They definitely helped.

But they weren't what generated the best conversations.

People responded to authenticity.

Being available, answering every question, thanking every commenter, and genuinely asking for feedback created far more meaningful engagement than simply asking people to "support the launch."

That changed how I think about product launches.

A launch isn't the finish line.

It's the beginning of your biggest user research session.

We're now preparing for our next launch on Peerlist, and we're taking everything we learned from the PeerPush community to improve GhostPrompter even further.
