      <title>Why most online store builders fail Nigerian vendors</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Most online store builders assume ecommerce happens through full websites, dashboards, and structured browsing.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But in Nigeria, selling looks different.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It happens on WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, TikTok comments, and status updates.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A customer doesn’t “browse a store.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;They message:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“How much?”&lt;br&gt;
“Do you deliver today?”&lt;br&gt;
“Send account number.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That’s the real flow of commerce here.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The mismatch&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Traditional tools expect:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;full website storefronts&lt;br&gt;
complex setup flows&lt;br&gt;
desktop-heavy workflows&lt;br&gt;
email-style communication&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;*&lt;em&gt;But vendors here are:&lt;br&gt;
*&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br&gt;
mobile-first&lt;br&gt;
chat-driven&lt;br&gt;
speed-focused&lt;br&gt;
constantly multitasking&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Most tools don’t fit that reality.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Bigger picture&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br&gt;
The next wave of ecommerce in Africa won’t look like Shopify clones.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It will be built around messaging, speed, and mobile behavior.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We’re still early.&lt;/p&gt;
