Disclosure: I’m the founder of Hilite. These are practical checks you can use with your existing editor; Hilite demonstrations are linked where useful.

Technical conversations need careful editing because small cuts can change the meaning of an explanation. Before publishing an interview or developer podcast, review the content and the audio separately.

 Preserve the source

Keep the original recording separate from your working edit. That gives you a reference when a cut sounds suspicious or a processed passage loses detail.

Check edits against the spoken explanation

A transcript makes it easier to find a passage, but it isn’t a substitute for listening. After removing text, listen across the resulting cut. Check that qualifiers, negation and important context remain intact. Verify product names and technical terminology before using the transcript as public supporting material.

 Compare processing on matching passages

Pick a short passage with speech and background noise. Compare the same section before and after enhancement at similar listening levels. Listen for intelligibility, clipped syllables and changes in the speaker’s voice. If a setting damages speech, revise it rather than assuming more processing is better.

 Review the published package

Listen to the final export. Check the title, episode description and referenced links. After publishing, check the episode on its public page and intended listening destinations; distinguish a host’s successful publish from a destination having refreshed its feed.

 Video

Watch on YouTube from 0:02.

Hilite demonstrations: transcript editing, audio enhancement, and publishing.

If you try Hilite, the free plan includes one episode per month with up to 30 minutes of recording/enhancement, text editing and transcripts. Distribution and AI show notes require Pro or Business. Current plans.
