Building a social presence usually starts with two deceptively simple tasks: finding a good username and turning visual ideas into posts.

I kept bouncing between profile URLs, username rules, image editors, and ZIP utilities, so I built Creator Can: a small collection of focused tools for Instagram and TikTok creators.

The site is free, requires no sign-up, and is designed to return useful results quickly.

 1. Instagram Username Checker

The Instagram Username Checker helps you turn a rough handle idea into something you can actually evaluate.

It can:

clean and format a username idea

apply Instagram's basic username rules

prepare a direct Instagram profile link

generate related handle alternatives

let you copy ideas without creating an account

One important limitation: this is not an official Instagram registration-availability API. A visible public profile is a strong sign that a handle is already in use, while a missing profile is only a clue. The final answer is always what Instagram accepts when you create or edit an account.

 2. TikTok Username Checker

The TikTok Username Checker follows the same focused workflow, but applies TikTok-specific formatting rules.

You can start with one idea, review the cleaned result, open the matching TikTok profile URL, and compare alternative names. It is especially useful when the exact name you want is taken and you need variations that still feel consistent with your brand.

As with Instagram, final availability is confirmed by TikTok itself during sign-up or profile editing.

 3. Instagram Grid Maker

The newest tool is the Instagram Grid Maker.

It splits one image into a seamless three-column Instagram profile grid. You can:

choose layouts from 3x1 through 3x6

drag and scale the source image

preview the exact tile arrangement

choose a background color for unmatched image ratios

download an individual tile

download every numbered tile in one ZIP file

Each exported tile is 1080x1350 pixels. The files are numbered in posting order, so you can publish file 01 first and continue upward.

The image workflow runs in the browser. The source image is not uploaded to Creator Can's server, which keeps the tool fast and avoids storing a private photo just to split it into tiles.

 The design goals

I wanted Creator Can to stay intentionally simple:

Free to use - no paywall before the result.

No registration - open a tool and start immediately.

Focused workflows - each page solves one creator task.

Honest results - username tools explain the difference between a profile check and confirmed registrability.

Browser-side image processing - visual assets stay on the user's device.

What I learned while building it

The biggest lesson was that a tool's wording matters as much as its interface.

Calling something a “username checker” can easily imply access to an authoritative availability API. In practice, the useful and honest workflow is to validate the format, prepare the profile lookup, offer alternatives, and clearly explain where the platform makes the final decision.

The grid maker presented a different challenge: keeping a multi-step image workflow understandable. Separating upload and positioning from the final confirmed preview made the interaction much clearer. Users can adjust first, confirm second, and only then download the generated pieces.

 Try Creator Can

Creator Can home

Instagram Username Checker

TikTok Username Checker

Instagram Grid Maker

I would love feedback from other developers and creators. Which small creator workflow should I build next?
