Build the design of your e-commerce app in 2 hours

You don’t have to start all over from scratch!

The first 1 hour

Plan the project, what screens will you need and what structure will the user route map have?

These are important parts of the project for the design to code process, and you will need to plan the function of each screen and the sequence of screens correctly.

The second hour and are you ready to travel?

We do a lot of research every time we feel the essence of the direction in the product creation process, and as a result, only the components that form in the project are formed.

So you’ll need to start with ready-made screen templates or practice-based developer-friendly components.

This process takes almost 30 minutes because you just drag&drop.

Take care of the style guide when the screens are ready, the style guide comes first every time you start yourself from scratch. But since we already have it all connected to each other, it’s easier for you to start the process on ready-made screens.

This is also very easy in the coded version because we have styled based on the SASS preprocessor and the overall colours are attached to the variables.

So you again spent about 15 minutes to match the product style with your own brand and now the screens look more pleasing to you. Because it all seems to be compatible with your brand that you already and value for your customers.

Would it be better to leave office work and sell digital products?

I don’t want to share about my wax income here because I don’t have a good sale yet :)

I just want to talk about how I found the answer to the question I asked myself 4 months ago today.

Yes, I quit all my freelance jobs and permanent office work 4 months ago. The reasons were many and I can only say that I really wanted digital product sales as well as time management.

So let me introduce myself to you in the middle of the article :) I am a Product Designer living in Uzbekistan and love to explore user-friendly interfaces.

1 month ago I launched my first digital product and today I am very happy to have done it. This product is called the Elegant Dashboard Kit (https://dashboard.elegant-goodies.com/) and includes a Figma design and a code version.

I didn’t think much about which direction to run, because just rubbing and running was important.

So I worked 2 weeks on this product and it was fair. I basically started at PH and the following is the monthly result on the top image.

So some money and what?

Working for money is bad, but you have to work hard to find a good source of income someday. Launching my first product made me work so hard and it came back with a great experience.

It doesn’t matter what field or round you start because in the next steps it will be self-evident and you will be able to think more clearly.

Don’t be in a hurry to start with a blank piece of paper when designing a dashboard, as things like a holistic design system and a well-structured component base ahead can make you forget that you’re drinking too much coffee and ending the day in front of a computer.

The Idea
So where did the idea come from? Why did I decide to develop a UI Kit for Dashboards? At first, I started looking for side project Dashboard designs myself, which I found but they were saturated with very expensive or useless components. I just wanted to find a compact and clean Dashboard UI Kit and finish my side project quickly.

After I finished drinking a few cups of coffee, I had this idea – what if I developed a UI Kit for Dashboards myself?

Although it seemed like a lot of fun at first, a few days later I had a strong tension in my brain because developing a UI Kit wasn’t as easy as drawing wireframes on paper while just drinking a cheeseburger and Pepsi.

I deleted all the work I had done in the first week from Figma and felt confused because I started working without much searching. ctrl + a and delete I deleted the 1-week hard-working result instantly. The reason was that the UI Kit had very few components that were semantically necessary, and I had planned to demonstrate a practice-based UI Kit for people in advance.

During the day, I reviewed many CMS systems and started drawing again. Now everything was better because every screen had a jam of useful parts.

I have finally developed my first UI Kit called Elegant Dashboard and I am sharing it with you today.
