Two weeks after launch, I am close to 100 subscribers

Hi everyone! Two weeks ago, I launched indiegrow as a way to help founders grow together on Twitter. What my free newsletter does is send tweets that are good for commenting. Subscribers (mostly founders) can reply and stay active on Twitter. For folks under 1000 followers, commenting is a vital strategy to gain a following and make friends!

My biggest challenge for this daily newsletter is sending it out every day. Even though sometimes it can get tricky to keep this up, I enjoy finding good conversations for folks, so I have been having a lot of fun with it. I am happy to report that I haven't missed sending out a single issue.

It has been growing steadily for the last two weeks. Right now, I am closed to 100 subscribers. A new feature I implemented recently is an exclusive Twitter list for my newsletter subscribers. Having a dedicated Twitter list means they will be able to see each other's tweets. It also allows me to see and feature their tweets if they are good for engagement.

I hope to reach 100 subscribers and keep the momentum going. If you feel like checking it out, it is here. Hope you can join us on this journey!

Hi everyone! I write a newsletter called FontDiscovery. Every week I create a digestible visual guide about a new font with examples and case studies to help founders, creators, and makers step - up their creativity and marketing game. This week, I covered Koho, a font perfect for attention-grabbing marketing projects and complex digital products.

Font Details
Koho mixes calligraphy with modern influences. It combines calligraphic and functional font styles by having traits of both monospace fonts and humanist sans serif. This harmony between the organic and the functional creates a unique aesthetics.

How should I use it for logos?
Koho has oblong shapes, consistent stroke, calligraphic influence, and large x-height to communicate warmth and openness. It is perfect for tech brands.

How should I use it for marketing?
Koho communicates warmth and openness. It can be used for display and more complex projects. It has regular and italic in six weights. It can support complex projects like product landing pages and app interfaces. It pairs well with Daubenton.

See examples, use-cases, and sources of this issue on fonts.substack.com. Subscribe if you feel like. I share similar tips every week!

Hey guys, I just sent the first issue of my newsletter, indiegrow. It went out to 50 subscribers who are trying to grow and stay active on Twitter. What my newsletter does is sending them conversations folks in startup space can comment on to stay active on Twitter. If you want to check out the newsletter, it is here. This newsletter is daily, and I really enjoy finding good conversations for folks, so I am pretty stoked : )

I launched this newsletter a little more than a week ago and it's the second newsletter project I am starting. The first one grew a lot slower at the beginning, so I am pretty happy with the growth right now for indiegrow! I hope I can keep this up.

3 min design tip on how to use the font Chaumont for your web projects

Hi everyone! I write a newsletter called FontDiscovery. Every week I create a digestible visual guide about a new font with examples and case studies to help founders, creators, and makers step - up their creativity and marketing game. This week, I covered Chaumont, a graphic display font that grabs attention and communicates funkiness!

 Font Details

Chaumont is inspired by a design poster in Chaumont, France. It captures the design festival’s spirit with its visual kooks. It is a graphic display font that you can use in any project to get attention.

How should I use it for branding?

This font communicates funkiness. It is perfect for an artsy and creative project looking to be visual and attention-grabbing. Chaumont is great for funky landing pages and statement-making graphics. It has a fantastic visual texture.

How should I use it for marketing?

Chaumont is great for funky landing pages and statement-making graphics. It has fantastic visual textures for graphics. You can use it to create an interesting visual statement or animation by combining it with a more readable font like Roboto. It is only available in one weight.

 Cautiously avoid

For this font, readability can become an issue. While it’s readable, it’s not the clearest. It’s probably better to use it for large-size copies with a “graphic punch.” Avoid using it for important information.

See examples, use-cases, and sources of this issue on fonts.substack.com. Subscribe if you feel like. I share similar tips every week!
Communicating gentleness with this font for your indie project!

Hi everyone! I work on a newsletter called FontDiscovery. Every week I create a digestible visual guide about fonts, marketing, and design ideas to help founders and markers step up their marketing and get creative.

This week, I share a font that communicates gentleness in your marketing. we also talk about open source project as marketing. If you have to create designs for your projects and business, try these and let me know what you think!

Font of the Week: Averia

Averia family has swelled-up strokes that give a brush appearance, hand-crafted feeling. Averia is created by averaging all the fonts on the designer's computer. There are several different styles of Averia: Averia Libre is an average of all the fonts; Averia Sans Libre includes is the average of all the sans serif, whereas Averia Serif Libre is the average of all the serifs. This font family communicates warmth, artisanal and gentleness. It gives your project a gentle and tender feeling. Averia Sans Libre feels the most gentle because it looks thinner and softer than other style versions.

How to use it for marketing?

Each Serif, Sans, and Libre version has three weights and is available in regular and italic styles.

Averia Serif and Sans serif can pair with each other

Serif is good for editorial; Sans and Libre is excellent for body copy

I share font, design and marketing tips like this weekly, you can subscribe if you feel like. If you would like to read the original post, you can see it at fonts.substack.com.
