When I started learning web development, I only knew the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I wanted to understand how real websites and web applications are built.

After learning the basics, I started learning the MERN Stack, which includes MongoDB, Express.js, React.js and Node.js.

Why I Started Learning MERN Stack

I wanted to become a full-stack web developer and learn how both frontend and backend work together.

React helped me understand how to build interactive user interfaces, while Node.js and Express.js helped me learn how to create backend APIs.

MongoDB helped me understand how application data can be stored and managed in a database.

What I Have Learned

During my learning journey, I have worked with:

React.js
Node.js
Express.js
MongoDB
REST APIs
JWT Authentication
CRUD Operations
Git and GitHub

I also learned that building projects is very different from only watching tutorials. When you build a project yourself, you face errors and problems that force you to understand things better.

Challenges I Faced

One of the biggest challenges was debugging errors.

Sometimes an API would not work, sometimes there would be a database connection problem, and sometimes a small mistake in the code would stop the whole application.

At first these errors were frustrating, but slowly I learned how to read error messages, search for solutions and fix problems step by step.

Building Projects

Working on projects has helped me improve my development skills.

I have been working on a salon management project where I am learning how to connect a React frontend with an Express and MongoDB backend. I have also worked on an e-commerce project where I implemented features such as authentication, products, cart and orders.

These projects helped me understand how different parts of a full-stack application communicate with each other.

What I Want to Learn Next

My learning journey is still going on.

I want to improve my React and Node.js skills, learn more about Next.js, build better projects and gain real-world development experience.

I also want to continue using Git and GitHub to manage and share my projects.

Final Thoughts

Learning web development takes time and practice. You do not need to know everything before building your first project.

For me, the most important lesson has been:

Build projects, make mistakes, fix them, and keep learning.

This is just the beginning of my journey as a web developer, and I am excited to see where it takes me.
