I’m working on a Java project called <strong>JNova</strong> — it's a modular networking framework built from scratch with a focus on <strong>reactive programming</strong>, <strong>custom protocol handling</strong>, and support for different transport layers like <strong>TCP, UDP, and Kafka</strong>.</p> <p>The idea is to create something flexible and lightweight — kind of like Netty or Spring WebFlux, but without the boilerplate or heavy abstractions. I'm aiming for something that feels modern and hackable, especially for backend, server, and terminal-based tools.</p> <p><strong>Some of what’s already in progress:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A TCP server core built around <strong>Project Reactor</strong> </li> <li>A <strong>unified request/response system</strong> that works across multiple protocols</li> <li>Annotation-based <strong>request handler registry</strong> with type dispatching + injection</li> <li>Plans for a <strong>RequestBus</strong> to route messages across all transport layers</li> <li>Simple demo apps (chat system, terminal UI, etc.)</li> </ul> <p>I’m looking for people interested in:</p> <ul> <li>Java networking</li> <li>Reactive programming (Reactor/Flux/Mono)</li> <li>Building low-level tools and clean APIs</li> <li>Protocol design or transport layer stuff (UDP, Kafka, etc.)</li> <li>Making cool backend/dev tools with it</li> </ul> <p>If you’re curious or want to help, I’d love to talk.
