Hi guys! HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are the Basic Languages on a Website. HTML functions as the Layout and Framework of a Website. CSS is used as a decoration to make the website more attractive. JavaScript is a regulator to make the Website more Interactive. Meanwhile, PHP as a Backend Programming Language for the Server. And MySQL as a Database.

Article Source :

Have you ever thought about how HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and MySQL interact with each other? You may already understand it, but maybe some are unfamiliar with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and MySQL concepts. Therefore, we will detail how each of these components operates. Read until the end, okay?

 A. Component Details

Below are the details of each component's tasks:

 1. HTML

HTML is used to describe the structure of a web page. It defines elements such as headings, paragraphs, dividers, input forms, and other widgets that appear on the page. It's important to note that HTML only outlines the structure without significantly determining the appearance of these elements, apart from minimal standard styles defined in browser style sheets.

 2. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)

CSS is a declarative language that, through its selectors, defines the styles of elements based on tag names, attributes, IDs, or other methods. CSS allows for specific style settings. With CSS3 and the evolving language concepts, element transitions and animations can also be implemented.

 3. JavaScript

JavaScript is often referred to as the language of the web, and this description is fairly accurate. It is a programming language capable of manipulating data in the browser, changing the appearance and content, responding to user inputs, and validating form inputs. With the emergence of robust JavaScript environments such as Node.js, data manipulation can also be performed on the web server.

 4. PHP

PHP is a powerful programming language primarily used on the server side. It is often utilized to serve dynamic data from a web server and convert it into HTML before sending it. PHP provides the backend for many popular CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and MediaWiki (which powers Wikipedia).

 5. MySQL

MySQL is a highly powerful open-source relational database management system (RDBMS). Used in projects of all sizes, MySQL provides a scalable database, from local databases to distributed databases that serve large-scale web applications globally.

 B. Collaboration Details

The following explains how these technologies work together within a web application environment:

HTML, as the foundational component, delivers content to the web browser, either as static HTML pages or as dynamically generated HTML content produced through a Content Management System (CMS). Apache HTTP Server is responsible for handling HTTP requests from web browsers and serving responses from the web server, with HTML being the standard response format.

CSS, which controls the visual presentation and styling of web pages, is typically delivered alongside HTML files as part of the same HTTP request-response process.

JavaScript primarily operates on the front-end and functions as an execution engine within the user's web browser. While there are exceptions such as Node.js, JavaScript generally runs locally on the client side and enhances interactivity, user experience, and dynamic behavior within web pages.

PHP, as a server-side scripting language, serves as the back-end component responsible for executing business logic and generating dynamic web content. Apache HTTP Server processes PHP through an enabled PHP module whenever it encounters
<?php ?>
tags within a PHP file. PHP communicates with the web server, processes requests, and generates dynamic content that Apache subsequently sends back to the client.

MySQL, as a relational database management system (RDBMS), provides structured data storage using SQL databases. PHP interacts with MySQL through database extensions such as MySQL (legacy), MySQLi (MySQL Improved), or PDO (PHP Data Objects).

Within PHP applications, database queries are executed using SQL syntax. The retrieved data is commonly returned as arrays or associative arrays, which PHP can further process and transform into formatted HTML content. Finally, through its integration with Apache HTTP Server, the dynamically generated HTML output is delivered to the user's web browser, where it is rendered as a complete web page.
