Early in my career, I used to think speed and confidence were the mark of a good artist. But over time, I learned that precision is patience in action. It’s the ability to stay fully present with the process, even when the design feels familiar. Even when you’ve done it a hundred times before.

Every session is a reminder that intention matters more than momentum. That the smallest lines often carry the most weight. That people don’t come to you just for ink—they come for trust.

I’ve found that tattooing, much like writing code or designing an interface, demands full presence. There’s no Ctrl+Z. No clean undo. Just real-time decisions, trust in your skills, and a commitment to keep moving. It’s meditative and intense at the same time.

Here’s what helps me get into flow:
