Finally, a vibe coding tool that actually works for non-coders!

Finally, a vibe coding tool that actually works for non-coders!

I just tested WeWeb, an AI-powered app builder (kinda like Lovable, with a no-code editor similar to Bubble), to build a meme generator app.

Now, a meme generator might sound simple...

The tricky part was building an intuitive editor so users can easily customize their memes.

Sure, I could’ve just relied on Imgflip’s API, but I wanted users to drag, drop, rotate, and style the text however they want.

So, I used WeWeb’s AI to generate a custom image editor component, and... here’s the wild part: I have zero coding experience.

After a few iterations (and some back-and-forth with ChatGPT), I built the whole app in less than 4 hours.

The coolest thing I found about WeWeb is that you can seamlessly switch between AI mode and no-code mode, which makes building fun and fast.

What features do you think are still missing from my meme generator app?

Best AI App Builders in 2025

By harnessing natural language processing capabilities, AI app builders can interpret user prompts and define app requirements, transforming them into working applications.

These platforms are making development more accessible, helping entrepreneurs, small businesses, and developers streamline their workflows.

But, they don't take over the entire development process from start to finish just yet. They’re great at speeding up the process of building the first versions of your vision.

However, not all AI-powered app builders work the same way. There are two types of AI app builders:

Pure code app builders

No-code app builders

Choosing the right one depends on your expertise and development needs. Learn more in this article.

How hard is it to code an app?

Building an app is an exciting journey, but it comes with its own set of challenges, especially for beginners.
It can range from moderately challenging to highly complex, depending on several key factors:

Your Technical Expertise: If you have no prior coding experience, traditional app development can feel overwhelming at the start. You would need to start from square one: learn programming languages, frameworks, backend infrastructure, and UI/UX design principles.

App Functionality: The complexity of your app matters. A simple to-do list app is much easier to build than a fully-featured marketplace with user authentication, payment processing, and real-time data.

Development Tools: Coding an app can take months to learn, but no-code and low-code platforms like WeWeb allow beginners to build functional apps in weeks using visual tools and pre-built templates.

Yeah with the advent of AI you’ll be able to build much much faster 🤯. But as a beginner replying solely on AI may not be the best starting point for future success.

While modern tools have made app development more accessible than ever, there are still key obstacles that every aspiring app creator must navigate:

Building a User-Friendly Interface

Setting Up the Backend

Integrating External Services

Debugging & Problem Solving

Read the complete article to go in depth about the difficulties of building an app and how to overcome them. Also learn how first-time app creators: Artem and Jane, successfully built their own apps without prior coding experience.

What Matters More: Speed or Perfection?

Having an app idea is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming.
Questions like “Where do I start?” or “How do I bring this idea to life?” might be running through your mind.

Feeling unsure about the next steps is completely normal; especially if you’re not a tech expert.

It’s easy to think everything needs to be perfect before you begin, but here’s the truth:
Building an app isn’t about having a flawless plan; it’s about taking one step at a time.

This article walks you through the entire process, from conducting market research to launching an MVP using no-code platforms. Let me know what you think :)
