What Changed with GitHub Copilot Pricing

I just finished updating the GitHub Copilot pricing page on WhichAICoder to reflect the latest changes checked on October 20, 2026. GitHub Copilot remains one of the most widely integrated assistants available across IDEs, the CLI, cloud agents, and pull request code reviews.

 Current Copilot Tiers and Costs

As checked on October 20, 2026, the updated pricing structure includes several tiers:

Free: Limited to 2,000 completions and 50 chat requests.

Pro: $10/mo, which includes $15 in AI credits ($10 base + $5 flex).

Pro+: $39/mo with $70 in credits.

Max: $100/mo with $200 in credits.

Business: $19/user/mo with 1,900 credits.

Enterprise: $39/user/mo with 3,900 credits.

On these plans, 1 AI credit equals $0.01, and completions are unlimited on paid plans. Additionally, Gemini 4 Argon became available on October 13, 2026, on Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans at provider list prices rather than the Pro tier.

 Check the Full Breakdown

To see the complete details, source documentation, and how these figures fit into our public rubric, you can read the full breakdown directly on WhichAICoder. I built this independent site to keep track of these numbers so developers do not have to guess.

For more details, visit the official GitHub Copilot Pricing Source and check out our page at WhichAICoder GitHub Copilot Pricing.

I track changes to AI coding tools independently on WhichAICoder, updating my public rubric and pages as vendors shift pricing, tiers, or product status. Here is a summary of the latest updates I logged in October 2026.

 Qodo Pricing Update

I checked Qodo pricing on 2026-10-20. Qodo does not offer a permanent free tier, but they provide a 14-day free trial that does not require a credit card. It remains free for qualified open-source projects. Their Pro Team tier is $30, and Enterprise pricing is custom. You can see the full details on the WhichAICoder Qodo pricing page or verify it directly at the Qodo pricing source.

 Devin Desktop and CodeRabbit Changes

Windsurf IDE was renamed Devin Desktop. Its pricing as checked on 2026-10-14 includes a Free $0 tier, Pro at $20/mo, Max at $200/mo, Teams at $80/mo plus $40/mo per full seat, and custom Enterprise. Read more on the Devin Desktop pricing page or check the Devin pricing source.

Meanwhile, CodeRabbit renamed Pro to Essentials and Pro Plus to Team while keeping prices unchanged, and added an Advanced tier at $72/user/mo annual. Read my summary on the CodeRabbit tool page and view the CodeRabbit pricing source.

 Base44, Continue, and Firebase Studio

Base44 now lists five tiers ranging from Free to Elite at $160/mo annual (source: Base44 pricing, my page: Base44 tool page).

Continue announced on its site that it has been acquired by Cursor (source: continue.dev, my page: Continue tool page).

Finally, the Firebase Studio site now directs users to move to Google AI Studio or Antigravity, prompting me to remove it from my non-coder ranking while it is migrated (source: Firebase Studio, my page: Firebase Studio tool page).

Recent AI Coding Tool Updates: GitHub Copilot, Lovable, Cursor, and Bolt.new

Recent Updates to AI Coding Tools

I have updated WhichAICoder with several notable changes across popular AI coding assistants. These updates affect features, pricing models, and available options for developers and builders.

 GitHub Copilot and OpenAI Codex

GitHub Copilot received an updated model pool along with a new HydraFusion Max option in a research preview available in VS Code, the Copilot app, and the Copilot CLI. Additionally, Copilot plans are now structured as Free, Pro at $10, Pro+ at $39, and Max, metered via GitHub AI Credits. Meanwhile, OpenAI retired GPT-5.5 from ChatGPT and Codex, though API-key Codex sessions remain unaffected.

 Lovable and Cursor

Lovable introduced growth tools featuring goal-based growth plans alongside Google, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram ads that can be launched directly from Lovable with no extra Lovable fee, while ad spend is billed directly by Google or Meta. Cursor's pricing page now reflects plans bundled with Grok and X, while legacy Pro, Pro+, and Ultra tiers continue for existing subscribers who choose not to switch.

 Bolt.new Pricing Check

I checked Bolt.new pricing on October 20, 2026. The free tier offers one million tokens per month. The Pro plan costs $25 per month when billed monthly or $18 per month when billed annually at $216 per year. The Teams tier is $30 per member per month monthly or $27 per member per month billed annually ($324 per year), with enterprise custom options available.

Check out the details and track tool rankings on the public rubric at WhichAICoder Bolt Pricing, GitHub Copilot Tool Page, Lovable Tool Page, Codex Tool Page, and Cursor Tool Page. Source documentation includes the GitHub Copilot Changelog, GitHub Copilot Plans, Lovable Docs, OpenAI Codex Pricing, Cursor Pricing, and Bolt.new Pricing.

AI Coding Tools Pricing and FreePi v0.4.6 Updates for October 2026

I recently updated several tool pages and pricing details on WhichAICoder to reflect changes announced in October 2026. If you follow coding agents, there are notable updates from FreePi, Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and OpenAI Codex.

 FreePi v0.4.6 and Pricing Updates

FreePi released version v0.4.6, adding free web search and documentation lookup tools that count toward your daily allowance. According to the FreePi Changelog, FreePi is an ad-supported terminal coding agent built on Mario Zechner's Pi agent harness. You run
npx free-pi-cli
, sign in with GitHub using a device code, and code against a daily free allowance using the default DeepSeek V4 Flash model.

As checked on October 20, 2026, the tool is funded by terminal ads and training on your sessions, with server-set daily allowances that may be affected by account age. Optional credit packs are available via Stripe Checkout where $5 buys $4.00 of usage and $10 buys $8.00. The CLI itself is open source under the MIT license. You can read more about it on our FreePi tool page and the FreePi Pricing page.

 Major Coding Assistant Pricing Changes

Beyond FreePi, I audited pricing changes for major assistants as of October 15, 2026:

Cursor: Transitioned to The X Subscription (Grok + Cursor + X) starting October 12, 2026, with tiers like Plus at $8/mo, Premium at $30/mo, Super at $100/mo, and Ultra at $200/mo. Legacy Pro and Pro+ plans remain active for existing subscribers. Details are on our Cursor Pricing page.

Claude Code: Included in Claude Pro at $20/mo ($17/mo annual) and Max starting from $100/mo, with shared usage alongside chat. Check our Claude Code Pricing page.

GitHub Copilot: Features tiers including a limited free plan, Pro at $10/mo, Pro+ at $39/mo, and Max at $100/mo, with unlimited completions on paid plans. More is on our GitHub Copilot Pricing page.

OpenAI Codex: Integrated into ChatGPT plans ranging from Free to Pro at $100 to $500/mo, with GPT-5.5 retired from Codex on October 14, 2026. Review our Codex Pricing page.

I will continue keeping these rubrics updated as providers adjust their offerings.
