I've always believed that a good management is more than just charisma or experience, and now research backs it up.

The best managers aren’t always the ones we expect – they’re the ones with strong cognitive skills, especially in decision-making and resource allocation.

And the fun part: these skills can be measured and developed, making effective management a choice, not a gamble.

A bigger team does not mean faster execution. More processes do not mean better efficiency. More decision-makers do not mean smarter choices.

If you want to know how to build and run a company that not only scales but survives, today we learn that through Airbnb’s experience. It’s always good to learn from the best, isn’t it?

People Are Getting Dumber, and AI Is Getting Smarter

An unfiltered perspective on the shift in cognitive power.

Welcome back to Tech Trendsetters! Today's episode hits different because we're talking about something that affects every single one of us – including me.

Here's the thing: humanity is experiencing a new paradox – our tools are advancing rapidly, but instead of making us smarter, they're making us dumber (or should I say – intellectually passive). AI, particularly large reasoning models, is now outperforming humans in tasks that once defined intelligence – coding, reasoning, problem-solving, while people are losing cognitive effort and critical thinking skills.

Simply speaking, people don’t want to think anymore. The modern workforce blindly accepts AI-generated outputs without questioning them, and schools are adapting not by teaching better thinking skills, but by making AI tools a crutch. We are no longer the "thinking species" – we’re effectively outsourcing cognition (the most valuable skill we could ever have) to machines.

https://techtrendsetters.org/p/people-are-getting-dumber-and-ai

Mastering the Forer-Barnum Effect: The Hidden Psychology Behind Every Successful Product

Hello and welcome back to another fresh episode of Tech Trendsetters, where we uncover the hidden forces shaping our industry and equip you with the knowledge to stay ahead of the curve. Today, we're diving into a fascinating psychological phenomenon that I believe every professional should understand – the Forer-Barnum Effect. And trust me, once you see it, you won't be able to unsee it!

You've probably heard me talk about various productivity hacks and cognitive biases before. But this one's special because it explains so much about why certain marketing tricks work, why some HR practices are the way they are, why we buy stuff we didn’t want to buy, and – let's be honest – why we all sometimes fall for what is essentially clever nonsense.

In this episode, we'll explore:

How does our critical thinking suddenly give way to the desire to be deceived? (Trust me, it happens to the best of us)

Where and how is the Forer-Barnum effect being used? (Spoiler: pretty much everywhere in modern tech and business)

What principles make it work so effectively? (And yes, I'll show you how to spot it)

https://techtrendsetters.org/p/mastering-the-forer-barnum-effect

How does AI’s rapid evolution affect your salary, job security, and future?

The International AI Safety Report 2025 just confirmed a major shift – AGI is no longer the goal. General-Purpose AI (GPAI) is already here and advancing at an unprecedented pace.

In this episode of Tech Trendsetters:

AI and your paycheck – Will AI reduce wage gaps or widen inequality?

The real risks – From AI-powered bioweapons to systemic bias shaping global beliefs

The AI power shift – Why world leaders are gathering in Paris for the most important AI summit yet

The global AI race just got an upgrade!

China is pushing forward with models like DeepSeek-R1 and Moonshot AI’s Kimi K1.5, showcasing open-source innovation and cost-effective development.

At the same time, the U.S. has launched Project Stargate, a $500 billion initiative to build the largest AI infrastructure ever, promising breakthroughs in healthcare and life sciences.

But with speed prioritized over safety, are we overlooking the long-term risks?

In this week’s Tech Trendsetters episode, I dive into how these strategies are shaping the AI landscape and what it means for the future.

https://techtrendsetters.org/p/global-ai-arms-race

Technical Debt Is Killing Your Business –Here’s How to Fight Back

Can technical debt be strategic? 🤔

Yes – when it’s intentional and managed well. Taking on technical debt to move fast can be smart, as long as there’s a plan to "pay it back" later.

But you also can ignore it, right? That’s when it becomes a problem.

The key is knowing the difference between a strategic shortcut and a long-term liability. Acknowledge it, document it, and plan for it.

https://techtrendsetters.org/p/technical-debt-is-killing-your-business

Have you ever experienced a phishing attack? Chances are you have, but the next one you encounter won't look anything like what you're used to.

Cause, well, ya you guessed it - AI takes the scene.

Today we discuss old good phishing attacks and how AI transforms this part of the criminal world into something far more sophisticated and concerning.

You know how we always joke about AI becoming too smart and taking over? Well... it's not really a joke anymore.

In today's episode we see how our current AI models (yes, the ones we're using right now) can:

figure out they're being watched and disable monitoring;

make copies of themselves when they think they'll be shut down;

lie about it afterwards, consistently and convincingly;

The crazy part? No one taught them to do this. They figured it out on their own.

https://techtrendsetters.org/p/the-perfect-liar-your-favorite-ai

Even when everyone is doing their job "correctly," organizations can find themselves stuck in endless approval processes, rising costs, and decision paralysis. Sound familiar?

Today we explore:

Why smart teams resist smart changes;

The hidden psychology behind organizational inertia;

Practical strategies for breaking free from the cycle of disablement;

If you've ever wondered why smaller competitors move faster or why change feels impossible in large organizations, this is for you.

Okay, you decided to add AI to your product and.. have a LOT of questions.

Where to start? What are the best options? What can we expect from AI realistically? Don't worry, I got your back here.

I just published a no-nonsense guide that answers all those awkward questions you're probably too afraid to ask. Everything from choosing the right LLM solution to avoiding costly mistakes.

Whether you're a startup founder, a product manager, or just trying to understand what's going on – let's figure it out together!

Ever wondered if AI is actually "thinking" when it solves math problems, or just really good at pattern matching?

I've been analyzing Apple's recent research that puts this question to the test – and the results are pretty interesting. When researchers changed simple variables in grade-school math problems, even advanced AI models showed surprising inconsistencies.

These are systems that score 96% on standard math tests, yet struggle when the same problem is rephrased or includes irrelevant information. Sounds surprisingly... human, doesn't it?

In my latest newsletter, I break down the challenges in measuring "true" reasoning and also explore why these limitations matter for the future of AI development.
